Obesity Drugs May Drop to as Little as $150 a Month

President Trump announced a deal with Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk to lower prices on hugely popular weight-loss drugs for Medicare, Medicaid and American patients who pay with their own money.

“…
Officials said that within the next few months, Americans would be able to use their own money to buy Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy and Eli Lilly’s Zepbound — which are both taken as injections — directly from manufacturers for an average of $350 a month, depending on the dose. The officials said they expected the average to fall to $245 over the next two years.

Starting around the middle of next year, Medicare and Medicaid coverage for the injectable drugs will be priced at $245 a month for beneficiaries who meet certain medical criteria, like having severe obesity or having obesity as well as kidney disease or heart failure. …”

TrumpRX.com Crashes Within Minutes of Trump Telling Staff to Make Sure It Works

“… The website TrumpRx.com is currently unavailable, just minutes after President Donald Trump announced it as a portal for newly discounted weight loss drugs Wegovy and Zepbound, which are also sold under the diabetes treatment brands Ozempic and Mounjaro, respectively.

There is a layer of irony revealed by the fact that it went down after Trump made clear to his staff assembled in the Oval Office to make sure it doesn’t fail in the way that the enrollment process for ACA (also known as ObamaCare) also crashed in its earliest days due to popularity combined with poor planning — a fact that anyone watching Trump’s Oval Office statement was reminded of by Trump himself.

“To sell these drugs to all consumers at deeply discounted prices via TrumpRx.com,” the president read from a prepared statement before asking aloud, “When is TrumpRX.com opening?”

Someone off camera replied, “The site is open, and it will launch in terms of giving people prices before the end of the year.”

“Okay, got to make sure it’s successful, it’s got my name on it,” Trump replied.

“I don’t want to be like the train they’re building in California, which has about 15,000 percent cost overrun. Or the Obama, the beautiful Obama building that he’s building in Chicago for the museum, which has now shuttered up and dead. They got it up, and they couldn’t finish. It’s about, would you say, five years behind schedule? And about 2000% over budget, then he tells us how to run Medicaid.”…”

That would be .398 lbs. He said million and not billion but it's equally as laughable.

His m’s sound remarkably like b’s. I’ve listened to it a few times and either one could be billion or million to my ear. But yeah million is probably more likely despite the caption.
