Can’t find a non-paywalled article yet but FDA just sad they would actually review Moderna’s flu application. Lmao.

US FDA reverses course, will review Moderna's modified flu vaccine application

“… The FDA has accepted Moderna's revised approach seeking full approval for the shot for adults aged between 50 and 64, and accelerated approval for those aged 65 and above, the company said, adding that it will also conduct a post-marketing study in older adults.

… The regulator is expected to make a decision on the candidate by August 5.“

As an engineer and someone who truly respects science, I have to give RFK some props. Afterall, have you ever seen a camel with autism? Has science ever documented autism among camels? No! Maybe they are onto something. Now that I think about it, ants and bees are highly social. I have never heard of either having any sort of social anxiety or awkwardness. Someone should recommend raw ant milk or bee milk to RFK. I doubt he is so closed minded that he would reject that idea out of hand, sorta like our Genius-in-Chief suggesting disinfectant injections for Covid.

What morons. God help us to survive the next 3 years. And God help my kids to flourish in the post-Trump world.

Amazing how Prasad is a bit player in this administration but is managing to get a fair bit of press focused on just how much of a massive asshole he is. Really punching above his weight in that regard.

“… Kennedy has repeatedly said he suspects the flu vaccine triggered his spasmodic dysphonia, a neurological voice disorder, and that he stopped getting flu shots in 2005.

Although he acknowledges he is unable to prove a connection, he said his eyes were opened to a link after reading vaccine inserts while he was engaged in litigation against flu vaccine manufacturers.

… Three top voice medical experts as well as the nonprofit Dysphonia International said in interviews that there is no scientific basis for the claim that the flu vaccine is behind Kennedy’s condition.

“Having seen over 300 patients with this condition over the course of my 30-year career, no one else has ever claimed or felt that they developed this condition due to a vaccination of any kind,” said Steven Bielamowicz, professor of surgery and director of the Voice Treatment Center at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

A type of dystonia, spasmodic dysphonia is a central nervous system and neurological condition of the brain that affects the muscles of the voice box and vocal cords.

It is distinct from dysphonia, which means an abnormal voice. A Washington Post review of 11 vaccine inserts for flu vaccines found dysphonia listed as a possible side effect on one type of flu shot, but not spasmodic dysphonia.

While there is no known cause for spasmodic dysphonia, brain injuries such as stroke and in rare cases genetic factors have been associated with the disorder.

There is evidence to suggest a potential associationbetween dystonias and certain drug use, three otolaryngologists told The Post.

Kennedy has publicly discussed his past addiction to heroin.

The voice experts noted there is some evidence that dystonias associated with drug use can be permanent or temporary.…”

So America has to suffer through an anti-vax movement led by HHS because RFK jr refuses to take responsibility for his self-inflicted voice disorder and instead blames an external factor – the flu vaccine – without evidence.

“… Ethan’s parents decided not to immunize him against measles as they did with his three brothers. Three out of four of them contracted measles. Still, despite Ethan’s ordeal, his mom stands by their decision. “We’re not blaming God for this,” said 35-year-old Kristina. “Yes, it hurts, of course, it hurts. But God has chosen Ethan for a reason. God is doing something, and we're gonna glorify his name regardless.…”

“… “Our biggest reason why we didn't do it is just with all the unnecessary stuff they add into it,” Kristina added, referring to her beliefs about the vaccine.

BUT, you also sent Trump.

Thomas Massie just declared: “This government is under siege.”And he exposed Susie Wiles and Pam Bondi for taking “millions of dollars from Bayer.”

“All three branches of this government are under siege by lobbyists and lawyers from a German company named Bayer.”

“They spent over $9 million lobbying … so that they don’t have to be liable for any damages their herbicide Roundup causes.”

“The Constitution guarantees people a trial if they’ve been harmed.”

“Why are we contemplating going against the Constitution?”

“The Attorney General has opined favorably for this German company in front of the Supreme Court about getting rid of any liability that they should have for any damages.”

“By the way, the President’s Chief of Staff and the President’s Attorney General worked for one of the biggest lobbying firms that received millions of dollars from Bayer.”

“Maybe that’s why we’ve seen an executive order that says that the production of this chemical from this German company is a national defense priority.”

“And we know why they’re doing that.”

“It’s to keep them from having any liability.”

“This is wrong.”

“We shouldn’t succumb to the lobbyists, not in the executive branch, not in the judicial branch, and certainly not here in Congress.”

Over coffee at a Starbucks just outside Austin, Texas, Del Bigtree told me he wants his teenage son to catch polio. Measles, too. He’s considered driving his unvaccinated family to South Carolina, which is in the midst of a historic outbreak, so that they can all be exposed. He prefers pertussis—whooping cough—to the pertussis vaccine, which he later described to me as a “crime against children.” It’s not the diseases that Americans should be afraid of, Bigtree insists: It’s the shots that stop them.

Spreading that message is Bigtree’s lifework. He produced Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe, a 2016 documentary that helped mainstream the modern anti-vaccine movement by alleging—spuriously—that the CDC suppressed evidence of vaccine harms. His weekly internet show, The HighWire With Del Bigtree, mostly targets the pharmaceutical industry and has helped raise millions for his nonprofit, the Informed Consent Action Network, which files lawsuits to overturn school vaccine mandates around the country. He’s been a close adviser to Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and served as communications director for Kennedy’s 2024 presidential campaign.

“… Her initial confirmation hearing was delayed after she gave birth in the fall. This hearing could become a referendum on the controversial moves of her political patron, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has overhauled federal vaccine guidelines and upended the public health system. Means, like Kennedy, has publicly questioned the number of vaccines included in the childhood vaccine schedule, as well as the hepatitis B shot. Public health experts say the vaccine schedule is safe and effective.…”
