I apologize if there is already a thread here about the Moore County substation attack. I remember one from the other board.

The Moore County substation attack is only a part of this story, but I thought this was an important topic for a new thread.

Confused Its Always Sunny GIF by It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Also, the article speaks to the power station and rising fascist terrorism in the US, while also intertwining the narrative of the writer and family having to flee their home, because the Nazi's started showing up at the house. The writer has an elementary school aged kid.

These are the people YeahRamsCalla prefer to have more influence over society, than people dedicated to rooting out corruption, or who are born with an attraction to the same gender or sex.

Being from nearby Chatham County I've followed both the Substation shoot-ups and the Proud Boys in Sanford story (Green says Southern Pines for some reason) from the beginning.

This was connected to Hugger Mugger Brewing Company

And also with Sanford Yoga & Community Center

Here is a tweet from the article's author from that time...

He didn't mention this substation attack soon afterward..

Doesn't surprise me. A friend of a friend on Facebook who lives in Moore County and was a current or former Green Beret openly called for violence last fall if Trump didn't win the election and stated that he had been highly trained to conduct operations that could disrupt society and would gladly do so if Kamala won. I reported the comments to Facebook but nothing happened. There are a lot of far-right types in Moore County.

That's a long article but there was one paragraph in there that really stuck out:

"No specific evidence has emerged to tie any members to the attack, though my attempt to sift through the Telegram chatter yielded a tip that would forever change my life."

Folks can speculate all they want, this "journalist" got a lot of inches doing it, but there's really no good evidence that Nazis or commies or monarchists or even lesser Carolinians actually did that attack. Its definitely not a forgone conclusion and I don't think it's worth getting in a tizzy about.

Substations get attacked a lot more frequently than people think. It's about 90 per year. It's true that white supremacists have targeted the grid with talk in chat rooms and some arrests including some guys in North Carolina but there are plenty of other reasons. Two guys were arrested in Oregon for similar sub station attacks in a scheme to steal from atms. Most attacks are run of the mill vandalism or theft.

I've seen this claim made before...I'm curious as to evidence. Can you help me out?

No. Trying to destroy public infrastructure isn’t “run of the mill vandalism.”

“Last night’s magnificent sabotage attack on Moore County’s electrical grid marks a beautiful escalation,” the post read, adding that it sent “a terrifyingly clear message to the LGBTQ+ community.

“The consequences will vary, but they will be severe,” the post warned.

BTC posted what appeared to be a damage assessment: “The area is experiencing increased emergency calls due to the lack of power,” adding that “auto accidents have occurred because traffic lights are out. People who rely on oxygen have placed emergency calls. … ”

BTC also posted a PDF of Militant Accelerationism, a publication from the neo-Nazi propaganda outfit known as the Terrorgram Collective that provided tutorials for carrying out mass shootings.

I later learned “BTC” was Matthew Robert Allison, a 36-year-old disc jockey from Boise, Idaho and one of the Terrorgram Collective’s two U.S. leaders. In September 2024, he was indicted on multiple felony charges, including solicitation of hate crimes, solicitation of murder of federal officials, and distribution of information relating to explosives and destructive devices. The U.S. State Department now designates Terrorgram as a global terrorist organization.

But how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?
