Former lead singer of Three Dog Night passed away yesterday at the age of 83. They had some great songs in the late 60s and 70s like this one:

Apparently Negron was a pretty solid basketball player in his youth, as well. RIP

Another dog has passed. I thought Chuck Negron would be first. He had a really bad heroin addiction.

I loved this group. One of my first 8-track tapes was their greatest hits album. I later reacquired it on CD. Interestingly, as good as it was, it DIDN'T have "Out in the Country" on it.

When I lived in West Virginia, I used to go to the Sternwheel Regatta concert in Charleston. Over the years, all three members of Three Dog Night performed, but not together. Cory Weils & Danny Hutton appeared as Three Dog Night & Chuck Negron performed "Joy to the World" as part of a pop music review featuring a bunch of 1970s artists.

I can see a Three Dog Night listening celebration marathon in my near future. I miss Chuck and the other two dogs. They certainly left their mark with the wonderful pop music they made.

People forget how they ruled the airways !969-1975. I was a youngster but they had a huge impact on me.
