I do agree with this. There are certainly a subset of vile and disgusting individuals who support Trump and who will similarly revel in his nastiness. But I truly believe those people are a very small minority, even among people who did vote for Trump. I believe that the overwhelming vast majority of Americans, regardless of political persuasion, are repulsed by this.

Many are repulsed by it, but not so much that they won't justify supporting him and people like him on the basis that they think it ultimately brings them greater physical security, or financial security, or cultural/political power, or whatever. People are fundamentally selfish, and our brains are wired to rationalize whatever we need to rationalize to justify acting in our own self-interest.

THIS stuff is the reason I find it impossible to separate the morality of the MAGAt movement...

Politics is one thing, but the essential core of Trump is his evil, awful nature. So just can't "ignore" this fact when I have any interactions with his supporters, and it is becoming impossible for me to hide it.

And that is what makes me so scared for our future as a country, we have seen exactly who 25 to 33% of us really are
