RIP Director Rob Reiner and his wife

My last name is such that virtually every male in my family ended up with Nick as a nickname except for my dad Kate who my daughter is named after.
 
Like many, the first thing I do when I wake up is look at my phone. Check messages and emails and then read the news. Trump‘s tweet about Rob Reiner was the first thing I saw today and it’s essentially put me in a bad mood for the entire day.

I can’t do this for three more years. I don’t know if I have to give up the news or what but we’re getting to that point.

Not to mention, Reiner wasn't the divisive political personality that Kirk was. I had no idea that Reiner had ever spoken out against Trump until last night. It's just another typical right wing false equivalence. MAGA's response to the attack on Paul Pelosi shows their true colors.
 
I do kind of love how MAGAs like Ram and Calla get all worked up about something like the response to Charlie Kirk's murder, and then Trump jumps in and says, "FUCK YOU, MAGA LOSERS!!!! I'LL SHOW YOU WHAT OFFENSIVE REALLY LOOKS LIKE!!!! I CAN'T WAIT TO MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE A BUNCH OF WHINY HYPOCRITES!!!!"

Think of how nyfan does it day in/day out. We all rely on them and are very grateful, but boy must be tough

Yeah, what people said about Kirk is nothing compared to what Trump said. People were fired from jobs for it, too.

The floor is certainly a lot lower with Trump. If Republicans don’t grow a spine the narcissism and front temporal dementia could bring the entire country down. When you put someone with severe mental illness into the most powerful position in the world, things can get really dire.

I have lost all faith that our military leaders will ever push back on illegal orders. That means I have lost faith in them ever stopping Trump from pushing that metaphorical nuclear button. They would stop an all out nuclear assault but I don’t think they would stop minimal use of nukes that could escalate out of control.

The problem with Vance is that he may be more effective in pushing things like Project 2025.

Tell me about it. My middle name is McLean, which I go by. Misspelled/mispronounced/forcefully told by strangers that that should be my last name my whole life. When they ask me for my name at Starbuck's (or anywhere else), I say "Mac: M-A-C. Don't you fuckin' put a K on the end of it!!"
