RIP Elden Campbell

I remember him playing on some pretty good Clemson teams and later had a solid NBA career
Oh wow. RIP. So sad to hear.

He was a great college player at Clemson. He and Dale Davis made quite an intimidating front court. He went on on to have a long and very good NBA career. He began his NBA career playing with Magic and Worthy on a Lakers team that reached the finals and lost to Jordan and the Bulls. Toward the end of his career, he won an NBA championship with Detroit.

Campbell and Rogers gone within two weeks of one another. Two ACC greats from my childhood/teenage years.

Big E played with Horace Grant (SR) as a FR in ‘87 and with Dale Davis (JR) as a SR in ‘90. His ‘87 and ‘90 seasons, Clemson was ranked.

RIP, Elden — gone far too young. Part of the golden age of ACC men’s basketball.
