RIP Robert Redford

“… His death was announced by Cindi Berger, chief executive of the publicity firm Rogers & Cowan PMK; Berger said that Redford had died in his sleep, but did not give a more specific cause.…”

Damn. So many great films/roles. In the past few months I had watched both Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid as well as The Sting with my sons. My older son has watched All the President's Men recently and I had also been trying to get them to watch Sneakers and A River Runs Through It. RIP to one of the GOATs

Great actor, director, environmentalist and humanitarian

So many roles in so many wonderful films:

The Sting
All The Presidents Men
Three Days of the Condor
The Candidate
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

and the list goes on

but my favorite is Ordinary People which was his first film as a director and it won best picture and best director. Me and the missus watch this movie every Christmas because it is set during the season.

I cry every time I watch it. It is bittersweet yet hopeful at the end. I identify with the film because unlike many films it is one that depicts a psychotherapist ( Judd Hirsch ) as one who doesn't sleep with their clients.

Good call. This is a great survival film, especially for anyone who likes sailing.
