RIP, Val Kilmer

He played Jim Morrison in 91, Doc Holliday in 93 and b/w those squeezed in a minor role as an ostensible Elvis in True Romance (great role even if it only yielded about 3 minutes of screen time). If he stayed in character that whole time, that's a lot of debauchery and disillusion squeezed into three years...
LOL, I meant dissolution...

He’s an interesting Hollywood figure to read about. Apparently he was EXTREMELY difficult to work with, which likely derailed his chances of being a true A-list leading star during the years that should have been his prime.

If you’re interested in an entertaining documentary about a movie Val Kilmer was in, check out Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley's Island of Dr. Moreau. (Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley's Island of Dr. Moreau - Wikipedia.)

There were so many things that led to that movie being a disaster to begin with, but casting both Val Kilmer and Marlon Brando made that movie impossible to make.
