Nope, he is not. These folks are functionally Putin apparatchiks. Beyond nuking mar a lago, I’m not sure there’s a thing Putin could do they wouldn’t whitewash.
Very specifically, what is he saying that you don't agree with?

Russia has always wanted territories that are majority Russian and they have always wanted a puppet state in Ukraine as a buffer against the 9th or maybe 10th invasion of Russia by the west. If they can't get a puppet state that they control, they at least want to buffer state that doesn't have NATO troops. I don't know why NATO thought a peacekeeping force full of Western countries was going to fly. That's not some crazy theory.

Russia wants sanctions relief so they can sell energy resources just slightly easier to Europe in exchange for the West getting easier access to energy resources from Russia.

It will be really interesting when they do the case studies on Western sanctions. They haven't been particularly effective at hurting the Russian economy but at the same time Russia and Europe are eager to see them go. It's hurting somebody. My guess is it's the billionaires that had their assets seized.

1. He said he trusts Putin's honesty and good faith. That alone is enough to disqualify him.
2. I've always wanted a Ferrari too. It doesn't mean I get to steal one, and then keep it and suffer no consequences for it. Actually I don't want a Ferrari but you get the point.
3. Ninth or tenth invasion? Oh, give me a break. More propaganda, I see. There have been three major invasions from the West in its modern history. That's three more than some countries over that time period, but it's less than invasions of other places in Europe.
4. And just because the country fears invasion doesn't give them any expectation of having a "buffer." They get to use other countries the way Elon uses his kid on his shoulders? No, no, no.

I personally don't care much about whether Ukraine should be in NATO. But your Russian-washing of history and various apologia require correction. When you're both siding Putin, you really need to get yourself examined.

Putin’s own words make clear that he sees all of Ukraine as a part of Russia, that Ukraine has no right to exist. What more needs to be said?

gt, I don’t feel a need to justify the obvious, particularly to bad-faith doublespeak bootlickers.

I think a fair amount of that is internal politics. Russia already tried to have an empire. It didn't work. Putin went through the collapse.

I'm sure Putin would love to control Ukraine by appointing their leaders, getting some sweetheart mineral rights deals and making sure that they didn't get too friendly with the West, but I don't think Putin's dumb enough to want to occupy a country with 30 million people that don't like him.

See super’s response if you really care [narrator: he doesn’t].
I think this is one of several responses where super is making up his own facts. I don't respond to him anymore since his issues.

If you feel you can come up with some specific claims Witkoff mentioned that you don't agree with, I'd go for it. [Narrator: he can't]

Trump Says Russia Might Be ‘Dragging Its Feet’ on Cease-Fire Deal

The president said he had used similar tactics in real-estate negotiations

“… Asked about Moscow’s procrastination, Trump said the Kremlin might be “dragging its feet” and compared the maneuvering to his own past tactics in real-estate negotiations.

“I’ve done it over the years. You know, I don’t want to sign a contract. I want to sort of stay in the game, but maybe I don’t want to do it quite—I’m not sure,” he said in an interview with Newsmax. …”

As much as you want to be like me, you're not. You never will be. So please stop confusing the two of us. I didn't make up any facts there or anywhere.

Trump Admin changes the resource sharing deal terms to be more punitive? Couldn’t have seen that coming …

Good luck enforcing that deal. Ukraine will back out as soon as they don't need the US. Can't sue Ukraine as a sovereign entity in US court; there's no way to win in Ukrainian court, and there will be no reputational cost to Ukraine for backing out because everybody realizes it's a hostage situation. Even if the US were to get a judgment against Ukraine, then what? How to collect? Sanctions? Sanctions won't be meaningful on Ukraine unless Europe joins, which they won't. This will be a line in the sand.
