The arrangement is designed to avoid a Ukrainian referendum—which would block outright territorial cession—and to lock in a ceasefire.

So we spend 4/5ths of a trillion dollars a year on Defense
Russia invades Ukraine for the second time in a few years
We kind of fart around with some second level arms help-no "Offense" weapons
So what does our great defense budget do? I am of course assumming invasions by Russia into NATO neighboring land is a threat. Now if it is not -well what do we spend 4/5ths of a trillion dollars a year on defense for?

"indicates a slight lull on the Frontline."

Yea, Russia keeps running out of men and resources to sacrifice so that can cause a lull too.

Urals oil prices have shrunk to the $36 to $45 range. This drop in pricing is mostly due to Ukraine taking out Oil terminals and such. If Russia is an unreliable oil supplier then that drives down the price.

Now some of the drop in oil prices is due to recent Trump sanctions which are temporary and only designed to encourage Putin to maintain the appearance of negotiating so they can cast Ukraine as the bad guy. Or to maintain Trump's delusional Nobel Peace Prize dream.

As to Trump's disingenuous Russian sanctions, it was hard not to notice the Saudi Royal White House visit. Its in the Crown Prince's interest to stick it to Russia's oil industry so he can take their market share. I wouldn't be surprised if the Crown Prince has cut a deal with Trump to maintain sanctions on Russia thru the winter so their system's will freeze and be ruined. Would explain a lot.
