I'm sure some will say that he was lured away by the higher-pay of his new job with his Christian Nationalist anti-teacher union group, but for a man as ambitious as he is I seriously doubt he would have left that job if his enemies in Oklahoma (and he has many, including among other state Republicans) didn't have the dirt on him. He had turned that job into a national spotlight platform for pushing his beliefs and eventually moving up in state and/or national Republican politics, and wouldn't have left it voluntarily, I would think.
