Scrubs is back

Scrubs is easily my favorite sitcom. I bet I've watched the first 5,6 or 7 seasons nearly a dozen times. I'm trying to give this remake a chance.

I watched the first two this weekend, I liked it. Some of the jokes and JD’s day dream sequences didn’t really land though.

The goofy sound effects in the first episode was a fun callback to the first few of season 1. I think it was in the podcast Zach and Donald did where they said they leaned on sound effects and more slapstick comedy at first before the writers and actors got confident in the show.

Hoping Jordan (Dr. Cox’s ex, played by Christa Miller) shows up at some point 🥵

She's back this week I think I heard

I just started rewatching Season 1, which reminded me how much I loved the show. I watched the first episode of the new season last night, and I thought it did a really good job maintaining the feel of the original run.

One of my favorite sitcoms. I still watch them and laugh whenever they're on. The reboot was okay, same mind drifts and fantasies. But what made the original great was they were all newbies, learning to navigate life as adults in a high pressure, large stakes settings, and finding humor in it all the while. I don't know they can continue in that manner with the reboot. Maybe they can find something new in there and run with it.

And a huge part were the side characters, Kelso, Janitor, The Todd, Ted, Doug, Lonnie, Laverne, et al, and the guest spots.
