Of course it is a conspiracy theory. How many people would have to have known about the Epstein murder and kept quiet? You or I can't just walk into Metropolitan Correctional Center and get access to a prisoner's cell. It would require a conspiracy with multiple jail officials, at a minimum. And of course, some random person is not just going to murder Epstein as a one off. If someone is conspiring with jail officials to kill Epstein, they are assuredly conspiring with other people outside the jail to make it happen.

And like all conspiracy theories, you are assuming none of these people with knowledge, either direct or indirect, are ever going to tell anyone about their knowledge. That is the very essence of a conspiracy theory.
Those are valid points.

But now we have an email from a U.S. attorney in the FBI files referring to a DOJ murder investigation back in 2020

And then one does have to wonder why Epstein would commit suicide in the first place.

Conspiracy theory ? No doubt that is a reasonable way to dismiss this and move on

1. Conspiracy theory doesn't necessarily mean false. It just means that it would require a conspiracy in order to be true. And the murder of Epstein could not have been done by one person with no other involvement. It absolutely needed more people.

2. Why would Epstein commit suicide? Dude was looking at spending the rest of his life in jail. He was a hedonist. He is hardly the first or last rich person to kill himself after his scheme was uncovered. Not everyone is willing to be a Bernie Madoff and hang out in prison for the rest of his life. Plus, he made a prior suicide attempt. So, the murder theory would have to assume the murderers unsuccessfully attempted to have him kill himself once before getting it right the second time.

3. I would certainly hope there would be a murder investigation -- as is was widely speculated at the time he was murdered.

Typically "conspiracy theory" -- at least in my mind -- refers to something with a very low likelihood of being true. It's not simply the idea that two or more people committed a crime in concert.

You are clearly right that it would require more than one person to murder Epstein. But in contrast to the more commonly advanced conspiracy theories like Cosmic Pizza (to say nothing of QAnon), it could be done with knowledge of only a few people.

And as I understand it, there are serious issues with the suicide theory -- namely, the edited videotape, that murder investigation, the ligature revelations in recent days or weeks, etc. That's not to say I think the murder theory is more likely than not. I think it has a degree of plausibility that makes it orders of magnitude more likely than the typical "conspiracy theory."

As has been pointed out, Trump has always lived in his own little world where he is always right, always a victim, and his enemies are always wrong and deserve to suffer, but the difference between his first and second terms is that in his first term he was surrounded by some people with a backbone who were willing to stand up to him and say "no", but in his second term he has succeeded in surrounding himself with nothing but sycophants and butt-kissers who will do even his smallest and pettiest bidding and who have created an information cocoon in which he is totally isolated from reality. He is now free to indulge himself in his narcissistic fantasies 24/7 with nary of word of opposition or reality seeping in. And that is a very, very bad place for the rest of us to be in.
