His weekly cabinet meetings in his second term have been bizarre to watch. They basically consist of going around the table and each cabinet secretary or director spewing the highest praise they can think of about Trump in just blatant brown-nosing, and then the next secretary competes to try and top their predecessor's praise of Trump's brilliance and genius and effectiveness. It's literally shameless. Meanwhile Trump nods appreciatively from time to time and dozes occasionally, especially in the latter half of the meeting as the glowing tributes to his maginificent leadership just drone on.
It would be rather amusing it wasn't for the fact that he's the freaking POTUS and his cabinet leaders are all charged with running important agencies and departments of the federal government. I have a hunch that Putin and Orban and North Korea's dictator all have similar "ruling council" meetings every so often, just so all the minions have a chance to publicly kiss their leader's ass in the most shamless way possible and puff up his ego and tell him what a brilliant and successful leader he is. And it is very disturbing to see just how out of touch with reality and completely in thrall to Trump all of these powerful people are.
