This is what it has come to in our country today. We have a president who uses children as props to make it all about himself and his need for adulation.

Everyone on the board should watch this video, especially ram and Calla and consider whether character in a president is at least or more important as the policies ( good or horrible ) that the president advocates.

“… Around midnight, the president made a couple of dozen posts on his Truth Social account from supporters praising the state of the economy, attacking immigrants from Somalia, rekindling false claims about the 2020 election results, and even COVID-19 conspiracies.

The president shareda clip from his trade adviser, Peter Navarro, where he bragged about Trump proving the “so-called ‘experts’” wrong and claiming he had slowed inflation and brought down prices, even though inflation remains above the Federal Reserve’s preferred 2% target.

Trump also shared unsubstantiated claims about Somali migrants, boosted a post citing adviser Stephen Miller’s claim Democrats want to turn the U.S. into Somalia. Trump also attacked Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., with a post saying: “Throw her out of the U.S., Now!”

The president also shared posts making false claims about the 2020 election being stolen, focusing mainly on the counting in Fulton County, Georgia. He also boosted a conspiracy theory shared by actor Roseanne Barr, implying Democrats orchestrated the COVID-19 pandemic, expanded mail-in voting, and “stole that election.” Endorsing the false talking point, the president wrote: “A MUST WATCH. Roseanne is AMAZING!!!”…”

It’s more like 100+ posts (in part because he will post a video and then repost the same video with some rando’s commentary on the same video).

A sampling:

There is no way anyone with a brain (and who is honest with themselves) can listen to that bizarre call-in program last night and conclude that Trump is fit in any way to be the Mayor of High Point, much less the freaking POTUS. And yet tens and tens of millions of Americans voted to make him president three times. All of which is just a way of pointing to the wild success of right-wing news and social media outfits, and right-wing talk radio, in brainwashing at least two generations of Americans into thinking that somehow this is all normal and perfectly fine, and to pointing out the collapse of our Constitution and political system. Separation of Powers? Checks and Balances? Traditional political parties instead of brain-dead cults of personality masquerading as political parties? A political system and political leaders who are rooted at least somewhat in reality? Who needs those things anymore? Not us! We've got Dear Leader, and as long as he has all the power he'll solve all our problems! MAGA, baby!

ETA: And Merry Christmas everyone, courtesy of Dear Leader talking to little children about stolen elections, how awesome he is, beautiful clean coal, and how we're not going to let a bad (immigrant?) Santa infiltrate our great nation!

As has been pointed out elsewhere, so says the man with an Indian-American wife and children (and his wife isn't even a Christian). I do think Vance would throw his own wife and kids under the bus if he thought that would give him the presidency in 2028.
It's ok that his wife isn't white, she's still a good mother...
