People criticized Wicked Weed when they sold out to Inbev - but great example of mitigating the risks outlined above and also the fact that craft beer has become a very crowded, commoditized market. There are probably already Mountain Candy clones out there from other breweries - and lots of other places for folks to get their beer from.

I deal everyday with families of people who have been accused of and/or convicted of crimes. And I know people in my personal life who have dealt with that in their family. It is incredibly painful, and beyond the emotional toll it takes, it can also impact them in other ways (e.g., financially). I would hope that we can supportive of those people. That is the right thing.

Perhaps the wife doesn’t “deserve” to have her business fail, but I believe the business entity deserves to fail. Perhaps that’s semantics. Another way I could phrase it - I won’t be buying their beer, and I doubt many other people will either.

Were there really no other morality/character red flags with this guy?

Just hard to believe there were none for a person willing to SA a 13 yr old

Agree with both you guys. Always feel bad for the kids when the parent, typically but not always dad, makes a mistake. This guy almost certainly will be going away for a long time, good riddance, but the wife and kids are going to have a really rough time, especially if they can't continue running the brewery or at least get a good payout from someone else buying it. Even if they are, the kids are going to deal with bullying, and not having their dad in their life, while the wife is going to be dealing with suspicion on what she knew no matter what comes out.

No, that's only for his legal troubles. He was guilty when he broke into the house and was caught. Now we wait until he's convicted and cut his dick off.

You never know what you would actually do, but my history is to protect my family, so I believe I would react the same way.

Well we just have to disagree. Boycotting is expressing ones opinion. It, alone, isn't going to cancel anything. If the opinion is correct and enough people join in, then the person or company probably earned the results.

This case isn't really up for debate, unless one sports pedophile rapist. Once convicted this guy needs to be canceled and have his nuts and dick cut off.

Yes, children can be brutal. The poor kids will suffer. The idiot father obviously didn't consider his family.

And break into the house to do it, and then just wait in the car naked. Was the victim a child of someone he knew? Or was it a stranger that he had been stalking?

seems likely the break-in charge is because he was in the home without the permission of the adult owners and that the victim let him in.

he probably got run/beaten out of the house by whatever adults were present and that's how he ended up getting arrested naked in his vehicle.

I don't know. I guess it helps that I have absolutely no understanding how anything said on a message board can piss somebody off. This just isn't real ,guys. So that leaves boring and interesting. Ignore can't cover that.

It's less that it pisses me off and more that it just annoys me. And why read annoying bullshit when you don't have to?

I don't pay particular attention to random people on the street shouting inanities, so I typically choose not to read them online, either.

That is where I am at 100%. There are some people who take it as a badge of pride that they have never ignored anyone and others who seem to imply that ignoring someone is a sign of a weakness or shows a lack of intellectual fortitude.

And then I see a bunch of irate responses to someone I have ignored. And I think, why do people want all that aggravation in their life?
 
Only found ignore useful on IC back when there were too many posts to read. Helped cut down on the volume

It's easy enough to skim past certain user names otherwise. Especially if they're posting more than a few words
