3 *saves* on 6 kicks is ... impressive. Like you said JC, it was darn near 5 saves but for well-kicked balls. Very impressive showing in the PKs.

He went the wrong way on the first kick... then basically saved or made a play on/deflected every other ball.

Have been away from the board for a couple weeks for the most part. Freeze was awesome in PKs.
One of the CR guys that scored is the son of a friend. Kind of surreal to see a kid Ive seen grow up to be on that stage. His dad was at UNC for a few years...a KA legend.

It was a great game and easily could have gone either way. Which is true of pretty much every game against the Ticos recently.

The US is going to need big improvement for Freese's PK prowess to mean anything in a world cup.
1. 100% agree.
2. I'm hopeful, but not at all certain, this will be very different when the international players really get on board next year. I thought this article was good -- The USMNT is a mess. That's the price of the U.S. becoming a 'soccer country'
3. Even at full strength, it's hard to see the USMNT getting past the quarterfinals. But that would still be a lot of fun.

Nothing will matter unless we get decent DCs. Our inability to produce DCs is mind-boggling to me. I can understand if we don't have great midfielders. That seems like the position that would benefit most by playing street ball every day instead of travel tournaments. But DCs?

Maybe it's because DCs are generally a little taller, and athletes over 6' get picked off by hoops and the gridiron? Even so, though, our pool of CBs should be at least as large as a lot of other small countries that kick our ass. Like Netherlands or pretty much anyone in NA other than Mexico.

this is infuckingfuriating and it is unbelievable to me that we played this motherfucker for the last several years while this was ongoing. it is really hard for me to believe that a club of Arsenal's stature and resources wasn't able to get some information on this and get the fucking guy out of our club long before now.

Fire Poch! He sucks! This team sucks!
Just wish they had stuck with BJ Callaghan instead of making the idiotic decision to bring back GGG. Once they did that, Callaghan moved on the Nashville FC and he ain't leaving there for this dumpster fire seeming of a squad.

Speaking of GGG, Poch needs to stop playing his son and bring Weston back.

That roster was filled with hot MLS garbage. Joe Scally, Johnny, Haji, etc. should have all been there.

Weston I’m less a fan of since he decided his ideal playing weight is 20 pounds heavier than his actual ideal playing weight.

It's too late to make a coaching change now. We're in the tournament with universally low expectations. Let's see what happens.

I don’t agree, if you watch him in the Championship he’s been pretty great. I saw like 3 passes to him in the first half where he was in a dangerous spot and the pass was way off. Not to mention Sebastian fucking Berhalter deciding to fire from long distance instead of setting up one of his 2 teammates wide open in the box.

Well I mean the shot was close.... Astronomically speaking
