Holy Shit. Gana gets sent off in 13th minute for ::checking the tape to be sure:: slapping his own teammate Michael Keane in the head. And then playing a man down for the rest of the match at Old Trafford, my Toffees defeat Man U 1-0 behind some stellar saves by Jordan Pickford.

12 matches in and we are ahead of Liverpool on Goal Difference. Cannot even imagine the last time we were ahead of them this deep into a season.

huge result. my BIL is a big everton fan, i'll pull for them as long as they aren't playing my club and esp when they play united. utft.

arsenal looks to have a bit of separation at the top and i think a clear bottom three is starting to cement with wolves, burnley and leeds now that west ham and forest have started to kick-on but the middle of the league is unbelievably congested.

only 5 points separating 2nd (chelsea on 23 pts) and 12th (liverpool on 18).
 
Is it just me, or does it seem a little crazy for the 4 UEFA playoff winners to be placed in Pot 4 for Friday's draw?

I mean, I think everyone knows that whoever comes through the European playoff is likely better than the rest of the Pot 4 teams, and probably most of the Pot 3 teams too, but I think in general it makes sense to put the teams that come latest through the playoff in Pot (especially when you consider when the draw is such that we don't know who the teams are yet). I definitely think you have to put all those teams in the same Pot under the circumstances, so really 3 or 4 would be the only options. And I would be upset if I was a team placed in pot 4 instead of 3 in favor of a "TBD" European team. Some of the European teams still in it are ranked in the 60s-80s in the world rankings, and you can't just assume the best teams will win.

Will it suck if the US's big advantage of getting to be a Pot A team is somewhat negated if we draw, like, Italy or Denmark from Pot 4? Yeah, sure. But overall I think it's the most fair way to do it.

We are basically hot ass. Granted the injuries have been brutal....but, Vicario cost the game - and I have no idea why he is still G1....he needs to be benched. Makes great saves and boneheaded failures at equal rates.
 
World Cup coverage on FOX improved today as it was announced Rebecca Lowe will be part of the studio crew for some of the matches. And the best news is that this is just a "loan" situation meaning she will continue her work on the EPL matches for NBC/USA/Peacock.

I've seen posts speculating that the new manager might get sacked before the season is over
