Study says aging is not gradual and linear

My lower back issues started in my 20s.
My back issues started when I was born…….really first came to attention at 12 after an injury doing the time-honored football drill, Bull-in-the-Ring. I was carried off on a backboard. Got a prostate exam that day.

The orthopedic surgeon at UNC was adamant that I COULD NOT do a swimming flip-turn because of the defect in my spine. Oddly, he’d been on the Michigan swim team. He knew what a flip-turn was. He was truly flabbergasted that I was a good and skilled butterflyer.

My distance vision is atrocious; but, 100% correctible. I asked my eye doctor what I am in 20-20 terms and her response was, “For you, we don’t use 20-20.” She did a simple experiment; and said, “You’re about 20-2000.”

Anything 15 or so inches out is blurred beyond belief without my glasses. Without my glasses, I’m great from 1-10 inches. Yes, I should get progressives. They’d be Sally Jesse Raphael-sized glasses and Coke-bottle lens thick.

I’m 64 and amazed how well shit works.

My vision likely would drive most people insane; I first got glasses at 10 years-old. I’d been faking for 3-4 years (memorizing eye charts, going up to the blackboard OFTEN to sharpen my pencil…..)…..I’m used to seeing well being an oddity.

My Mom’s Alzheimer’s……that’s a whole story unto itself.

It accelerates. Goes flat. Accelerates. The acceleration is usually more intense and prolonged than the “going flat” periods.
