Super Bowl LX - FOOD, ADS, HALFTIME SHOW

My wife always watches it before the Super Bowl so I looked it up....

"The 22nd annual Puppy Bowl (Puppy Bowl XXII) airs on February 8, 2026, at 2 p.m. ET, featuring 150+ puppies from 72 shelters across the U.S. and Caribbean. The 3-hour event simulcasts on Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS, truTV, HBO Max, and Discovery+, featuring Team Ruff vs. Team Fluff."
I put that on pregame every year for my wife and daughters as almost an apology for what is about to come next.

Of course, the daughters have been years since caring bc they watch devices, not tv... but wife likes it and the puppies are cute as can be (and really just background noise, not like we are sitting and watching)

I plan on napping during the Super Bowl. That, or not watching at all.

Either or a combo is my Super Bowl routine for 25+ years.

The game is so damn long with the halftime show and the interminable time-outs, breaks after a score or punt or turnover, breaks at the end of the 1st and 3rd quarters.

O/U on the amount of time between the coin flip and the kick-off? Four minutes? Five? Quarter breaks? 3 or 4 or 5 minutes? Two-minute warning? 4 or 5 minutes?

I'm at the point where the SB is the only NFL game I will watch in a season

The stakes and event status of the game are semi-entertaining

But if not for the watch party, food, drinks, etc I wouldn't watch either

Green Day - YES!

Deluxe Nachos (Chef John recipe) and Margaritas for the game. Go Drake.

Will watch Bad Bunny to see what all the fuss is about although I realize the HT show is not aimed for me and my demo. Enjoyed last year’s HT show.

What is the chef John recipe for nachos?

This will be the first Super Bowl I’ve cared about in about a decade, and that’s 100% due to Drake Maye. I’ll watch it, and then I’ll play my weekly mental game of “How the fuck did we not win anything with that guy as our quarterback?”

Will Kid Rock be singing his song “Cool, Daddy Cool”? The song is featured on the 2001 soundtrack for the movie Osmosis Jones and … well, folks … the lyrics are something else as a whole, but the real issue comes in Verse 3.

“Young ladies, young ladies, I like ‘em underage,” Rock sings on the track. “See some say that’s statutory.”

His sidekick at the time, the late Joe-C then chimes in, “But I say it’s mandatory.”

Parker Molloy reshared Vance’s post and shared the lyrics to X and wrote, “Maybe he’ll play this one!”
_________

I will continue my tradition of re-watching Prince’s halftime show instead of either option happening this year.

American Idiot will hit pretty hard, so I’ll tune in for Green Day.
