Like I said last week, Trump is bad for business.Less selection, higher prices: How tariffs are shaping the holiday shopping season
The president's back-and-forth changes to which countries will face higher import taxes leave many businesses in the lurch.ground.news
This is our discussion from last week. The presumption is that the tariff would apply to all products sold by the tariffed country.I have no idea how that is supposed to work. Maybe it's easier for oil than other products but it still seems completely unworkable.
Right. And I still don't see how it would be in any way practicable. It must be particular to the oil market if it is workable. This is our discussion from last week. The presumption is that the tariff would apply to all products sold by the tariffed country.
The flaw in your thinking is that Trump’s bluffs need to be workable.Right. And I still don't see how it would be in any way practicable. It must be particular to the oil market if it is workable.
It’s not workable and Trump is unlikely to ever implement it (or if he did, stick to it). It would put us back to over 100% tariffs on China and restart the shut down of the spigot of goods from China. And it would also impact everything we buy from India. China and India have grown reliant on their fuel discount as primary buyers of Russian oil.Right. And I still don't see how it would be in any way practicable.
