It will be interesting to see how many of the 2020 voters continue to be voters in 2024 and forward. I think it will be a while before we see 158m votes cast again.

In addition to the increase in mail ballot use, I think that the pandemic and the corresponding limitation of social opportunities may have resulted in more people paying attention to the election because there was nothing else to do (included within that is people paying attention from conspiracy theories around Covid/vaccines which may have just been a byproduct of having nothing else to do).

I'd be willing to set the over/under on this year's vote total at 158 million. And I'd take the over.

I should have taken your bet. There were about 144 million votes cast.

Nope. There will be about 158 million votes cast. Just as I predicted. You just need to wait a couple of weeks for all the votes to be counted/

T Swift should stick to music
It obviously didn't tip the scales in the Dems' direction, but no matter. Citizens of this country - whether they be widely known or not - have the right to express themselves, regardless of political affiliation(s). As much as I would disagree with a Trump supporter - just as with a Democrat/non-Trump supporter, I would always defend their right to express themselves (short of calling for violence, murder, or some other extreme example).

Of course, your Ingraham-esque take has everything to do with the endorsement she gave. You'd be right as rain with it if she'd pulled a Nick Bosa or a Drew Brees, among many other MAGA celebs.

It would seem that you and the rest of the MAGA contingent have grown so accustomed to the application of double standards that you 1) now accept it as a perfectly rational position, or 2) you're simply no longer able to see it.

I don’t think the Dems having waves of celeb endorsements and rallies that are Beyoncé concerts etc are moving the needle at all. Personally I think it just reinforces the “they’re the elites” imagery.

I know I know, Trump and Elon are the elites but when you have “Hollywood” all on one side it makes them look like the ones fighting the power to be opposite.

Lol. I’m sure billionaire Taylor Swift, who is arguably the biggest musical act in world history, is terribly concerned about Joe Middle Class being mad that she endorsed a political candidate.

As the country has handily re-elected reality television celebrity Donald Trump to a second term, I'm forced to agree with you.
Proof is in the pudding dont forget Ron Reagan too
;)
I never have understood our society's fascination and worship over celebrities. Absolute insanity esp knowing they couldnt give a rats azz about you.

To each their own

Good for her. I hope she eventually has more money than Elon and does just as much good with it.
