Teachers are nothing but glorified babysitters to our right wing friends.

I suggest we agree and pay them the same way.

10$ per kid per hour, assume 20 kids in a class, for 6.5 hours a day, 180 days a year... That comes to $234,000 a year.

Make that 35 kids/per classroom and do the math. We could only dream of 20/class. A teachers dream

Many school systems are cutting back on teachers and personnel because they are in a budget crunch because of the state legislature's failure to pass a budget and because the money they get from the state is insufficient to meet their needs and being increasingly diverted to vouchers and charters.

All while the legislature is scheming how to keep counties from raising the money to pay for schools on their own, with Berger’s bill to freeze real estate revaluation for tax appraisal purposes, pushing a constitutional amendment to cap the total revenues local governments can collect in property tax, and requiring state approval for localities to raise sales taxes. Their intent to totally control the finances of the counties is clear. They are simply not going to allow blue counties to raise the revenue to support their own needs.
