Terms and conditions to read news websites

Am I the only one who adamantly refuses to use news sites (or any other sites really) that force you to agree to their terms and conditions just to read their content?

Sorry CNN, you’re no longer a news source I can use. Bloomberg? Same for you. No way in hell I’m gonna agree to binding arbitration in perpetuity and wholesale collection and sale of my usage data just to read something on your site.

If you can’t make enough money off of advertising to me during my visit to your site, you can take your terms and conditions and just fuck right off.

Seems like in the last six months this has gotten really common.

There’s an interesting and relevant (and apparently important based on the headline) article on Bloomberg now that I would like to share with this community. If I shared it, it might drive a couple of hundred eyeballs to their site, but I can’t even read the damned thing without wholesale giving away all my rights. Too bad for them. I won’t be posting any more links to their site here. Seems like a terrible business model.
