1,600 people detained WHERE and for WHAT CAUSE?

I thought CBP and ICE were all over this and KNEW/KNOW who the violent criminals are and WHERE they are?

Are the Paul Wolfowitzes, Richard Perles, Scooter Libbys, Doug Feiths, Elliott Abrams of the Trump Administration in charge of this escapade?

They sure knew where Saddam’s WMD’s were in 2003!

Hey everybody, the guy who says the same thing in *every* *single* *post* and has been conditioned to take absolutely no action for any reasons thinks other people are controlled and predictable!
 
I wonder what the numbers are when you compare the Biden administration and ICE and the Trump administration. ICE has being doing this since its inception.

I don’t recall the outrage then. Were they simply collecting checks and not doing their job.

I think there wasn't outrage back then because ICE was not invading our cities and rounding up immigrants who were here legally and were citizens. I think under Biden ICE was limited to patrolling the border.

Now I could be wrong and would welcome any evidence to the contrary.

Border Patrol under Biden (and every other president) was largely focused on patrolling the border. But ICE has worked throughout the nation in all prior administrations, including Biden's. The differences are:
  • Trump has been dispatching special task forces of heavily militarized Border Patrol officers to blue cities to terrorize the local immigrant communities and convey a strongman, authoritarian image.
  • Biden's ICE focused on apprehending and removing actual criminals, whereas Trump's ICE and BP are targeting anyone here without documentation, as well as many brown people who are either citizens or here with documentation.
  • Trump's ICE and BP are the first ones to hide behind masks as a matter of policy.
  • Trump's ICE and BP are the first ones to deploy tear gas and other weapons against Americans exercising their First Amendment right to protest.
  • Trump's ICE and BP were gifted a budget by the Republican Congress that is larger than almost all militaries in the world.
  • Trump's ICE and BP are controlled by Trump and his minions, who have made no secret of their racism, their ethnonationalism, and their contempt for our laws, our constitutional rights, and our democratic norms.
Any comparison between Trump and prior presidencies is an ignorant effort to distract. There are no comparisons. Trump is a brand of evil this nation has never seen.
 
My daughter texted me from her high school saying she was worried because people were saying ICE was coming to the school today.
 
This is part of a text that I received late Tuesday night from the 8 year old daughter of one of my former cooks. (not me but a friend)

"My mom said if immigration gets her, to find you. She says she's scared because drones are (over) our building and they are looking for people."

No child should ever have to send such a message. I told her that of course I would take care of her, and I cried a little.

I'm proud of the people of North Carolina for the way that they have responded to the awful things that have happened here this week. They have delivered groceries and picked up prescriptions for friends afraid to leave their homes. Teachers have escorted their students to and from school. People have stood guard in school yards.


Hundreds of people have signed up for ICE Watch. Restaurants have closed, switched to take out or struggled with half-staffed kitchens. They put signs in their windows explaining that it was "for the safety of our staff members ". Thousands of people have marched in protest in Charlotte, Asheville, Raleigh and Durham. People here are pretty upset. This is the North Carolina that I love.

One more thing- a note to ICE and the Border Patrol. "I was just following orders" was not accepted as a defense at Nuremberg.
