If the mods wish to place this in the Foodie thread, no worries. But I figured it was worth its own thread.

What are you all making? Who will you be spending Thanksgiving with? I don't wish this to be political. Hopefully just a thread where we can share what we're all making/having and who we'll spend this important holiday with to celebrate another harvest and good year of living.

For my part, my ex-wife (who I'm fortunately still great friends with) will be coming up with our dogs. The cats, who live with me, will probably hide the entire time, but whatever.

She's pescatarian, so I'm going to make my Brodetto Marchigiano that I shared in the Foodie thread as main dish. Was originally thinking about making some Thanksgiving classics, like green bean casserole and cornbread dressing, to compliment, but I think I'm going to go full Italian. Intending to make a savory Swiss chard pie now with caprese salad. Ambrosia bundt for dessert. Thanksgiving Italiano!

Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving! Let us all be thankful for our lives and for one another. For friendship and feast!

Getting together with family in Southern Pines. All I'm doing is cooking a ham. Probably do a basic glaze with pineapple juice , brown sugar and cloves.
Cloves are so good!

As far as I'm concerned, it don't get much more North Carolina than Moore County. Where the rural and country club meet. Coastal plain and piedmont collide. Sandhills. Good stuff!

Sounds like you'll have a fine Thanksgiving!

Having it at my house this year. Mom and dad are coming over. Going to have turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, corn and butter beans, sweet potato casserole, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, deviled eggs, rolls, Watergate salad and pecan pie.

My gosh, Turd, that sounds amazing! If I had a full crew coming over, I'd try to make more. Sounds like ya'll will have a full crew.

Also, I just want to say, every time I see you post, I just crack up. Because I remember that Norm SNL skit. I miss Norm.

Hope to have Thanksgiving dinner in a friend’s restaurant but first we’ll go here for a day and night: Home - Earth Lodge Guatemala

We’ll stay in a treehouse - my wife and daughter find this place quite magical.

Just my sister & me on this Turkey Day, a keep it simple stupid meal . . . Turkey, taters, green beans, cornbread stuffing, carrot casserole, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.
That's quite a meal for two! You're making me think I'm being an asshole by not making the traditional side dishes now. Lol.

Only one rule - no politics or Trumpers. So, the parents aren't invited this year. Not because of politics. They've been dead since before the dark times.

I was hoping to escape turkey this year. No such luck. I don't set the menu. Traditionally, it's turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, candied yams, one or more green veggie, rolls, the canned cranberry goo. Usually, some kind of pie for desert. I think that covers it. I don't care for most of it. Will be missing one of my sisters this year as she is in a nursing home. My brother and possibly my other sister will take her food and spend a few hours with her. Very unlikely I will join in that visit. Gotta love the holidays.
