Been part of this community for almost 15 years now. I think extraordinarily highly of almost every single person in the community, regardless of their political stripes. This thread is by far the worst one I’ve ever seen in 15 years. I’m about to say something I have never, ever, ever advocated for on any message board ever: there are several folks here who need to take some time away from the board, either voluntarily on their own accord, or through moderator action. Some of the stuff being spewed back-and-forth here transcends political or ideological differences. It’s just pure nastiness for the sake of such. Everyone and the good Lord know that I am all about some trash talk and coarse language at times, and I am certainly not proud of the way in which I have interacted with many people through the years. But I’m not going to continue to be part of a community where some of what we are seeing on this thread gets tolerated. Anyone making a statement or claim that anyone else is celebrating a murder or advocating for political murders should be summarily banned.

It's one moron at MSNBC who said that. I hope he's fired. However, typical blanket accusations from the right (e.g., see the right wing outrage over the 'Sydney Sweeney' jeans ad).
i don't even think it was someone in MSNBC's employ. maybe someone from a local NBC affiliate station in utah.

of course they cut off the part of the clip that would tell us who the person is, they just show us very well known katy tur who absolutely did not say it.

i have no idea. seems doubtful.

regardless, claiming that MSNBC is somehow pushing that theory because it was proffered via unmoderated guest audio is absurd.
His events are on college campuses. No way that would be legal. Even if they weren't on college campuses, firing guns into the air is almost always illegal.

This is obviously an awful, horrific event. I've already seen 5 maybe 6 people post on FB "Pray for Charlie." How many of those people posted to pray for the victims of the recent the MN school shooting? None. It's always selective outrage on the right.

Let's all ignore the nonsense drive-by posters. No need to feed their outrage.

yeah, it was a ridiculous thing to say but you and calla acting like MSNBC is pushing the theory is absurd.

it was said by one random guest who only got audio, not even video. possibly someone not even in their employ.

I blame both sides because both sides are at fault. Remember years ago when liberals ran an ad showing Paul Ryan (?) throwing an old lady off a cliff because he wanted to reform Medicare? You don't think that Dems generalizing about Republicans as all racist, homophobe, transphone, neo Nazi, white supremacists, etc matters?

All Trump's rise to power has done is make the rhetoric 10x worse on the left, starting early on with a Dem holding the severed head of Trump in a pic.
But Trump gets a pass for all of the vile shit that he posts? Daily. There is no comparison.
