For years and years, the right-wing has been calling the left traitors, said they were intentionally destroying America, spread noxious conspiracy theories and have talked at length and repeatedly to "second amendment solutions." They fucking pose with AR-15s for Christmas and haven't found a shooting perp they didn't like, so long as he killed liberals.

For most of my life, the left did not go along with these framings. Now that we have a terror state under Trump, it would be a lie to turn the rhetoric down. They literally are fascists, all of them. They talk like fascists, they act like fascists -- everything is Fuhrer style government.

So of course you would blame both sides.

It is never going to stop until the GOP is made to feel consequences for it. It is no accident that their messaging has been laden with violence for years; it's literally all they have because they have no actual ideas except authoritarianism. They will return to the messaging anew, guaranteed. It's structural within the party.

again, who is this "leftist media" and how comparable are they to a man who has the direct ear of the president? or to the president himself? what member of the "leftist media" has said anything close to that Martin Luther King was an "awful, not-good person who is only famous for saying one thing he didn't believe," or "Boy, if I see a black pilot, I'm going to be like 'boy i hope he's qualified!'" or saying women should abandon their educations and careers so they can "submit to godly men" ?

My comment you responded to stands. There are sooooo many on the left that do the same thing as kirk, but spewing hatred as you guys claim kirk does, isn't an issue as long as its coming from the left. That's my point in this. Hell, I'm not even a kirk fan. I'm just calling out and highlighting the hypocrisy that is so prevalent here. I mean its so glaring that if you (not lumping you in with the cultist here) just paused for a minute to reflect on past threads would likely see it too.

If he shot from 200 meters away, that would give him plenty of time to make a getaway. I'm betting he used a hat and sunglasses and broke the rifle down into a duffle bag. We should have security video clip on the news in the next 30 minutes or so if the guy is still on the loose.

But the problem is that we DON'T have courts, we DON'T have free speech. SCOTUS has neutered the judiciary. SCOTUS has allowed retribution by the government against people for the content of their expression. The president is hell bent on defying courts and free speech.

This is what happens when the rule of law dies. That was my point on the game theory thread. Law is the only way we can pre-commit to cooperation in a democracy. When it decomposes, the only thing left is a war of all against all, and only deterrence-by-punishment remains.
