I don’t know if I like the fact that Steve Bannon said something substantially similar to what I posted earlier. I don’t find myself in good company here.

“If I can get my rifle, I will have left no evidence. Other than this text message. Oops.”

The FBI is run by a podcaster who had the note then didn’t have it.

The note is not normal, but very convenient for all key parties.

Patel is unintelligible when talking about it and the note.

Something stinks
Ok. The truth will come out. Sometimes things are as they appear. For the fbi to fabricate evidence in a slam dunk case is a level of stupidity I can't grasp. His story will be told almost certainly from him.

I totally get the skepticism of Gen Zers texting like this, and even to some extent the skepticism of talking about all of this over text message.

However, if Robinson (a) knows even the basics of iMessage E2E encryption (assuming these guys used iPhones) and (b) believes that his roommate/partner would be willing to cover up for him, then he may have convinced himself that his conversations with the roommate were “safe.” And he’d be right (assuming he truly didn’t leave other evidence elsewhere - i.e., Discord)!

However, given the unqualified statements from the prosecution that the roommate is “cooperating fully,” that would mean all the Apple encryption in the world wasn’t going to protect that convo anymore. Roommate would just unlock his phone and - SMARTLY - wash his hands of any accessory/obstruction risk.

Maybe Tyler is not a total dumbass, but was just dumb in love. That’s a story as old as time.

Admitting the crime and on Discord is a totally different story, but I think he only posted there once he knew the gun wasn’t recoverable, and he was good and fucked by that point.

“Oh … and the note I left under your keyboard, which I just texted you to find even though that’s superfluous since I’m texting you now about what I told you in that note I left before the shooting and which initially says in the past tense that I had the opportunity to carry out the shooting. So destroy the note, but you can take a picture of it, my love.”

To be clear, the FBI isn’t making these filings. The Utah state prosecutors are. If the Utahns aren’t in control of the text/forensic evidence, they could easily whitewash/“launder” some stupidity from Patel’s FBI.

That seems pretty unlikely as well, but there are sure are a bunch of Trumpy folks wanting to make sure this shooting gives them a pretext to crack down on anything that can be painted trans/left/non-MAGA at a whim.

Well I ain't in that team. I will say again I have no clue why the killers motive matters. None..

I would assume real if they’re putting the transcript in the charging document. However, it doesn’t read like a text message exchange between 22 year olds. It does, however, succinctly provide everything needed to convict the suspect while absolving the cooperating roommate/girlfriend/boyfriend/baby-mama.
they could really have plan

So you haven’t been paying attention to the conversation?

There is currently a court hearing in which Robinson is appearing virtually. He looks to again be wearing “Antifa gear.”

Robinson was dressed in a green sleeveless vest, designed to prevent him from taking his life. The vest is standard issue for high-profile prisoners at the Utah County Security Centre, court officials said.

Luigi Mangione – who is charged with the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York on December 4, and also could face the death penalty – wore a similar blue vest in his booking photo last year.

Trying to understand the theory here. the killer is in jail. Alive. He apparently has confessed. Dad turned him in. The idea is fbi fabricated evidence and why? His story will come out.
it would be a stupid way to blow the case. I doubt anyone is THAT bumbling. Bannon is just spreading crazy because he has an axe to grind with Kash i suspect, and conspiracy is the currency of his marks. Doesn't matter which flavor of conspiracy, long as you can keep them hooked.

I know, it was a callback to one of our right-leaning posters saying Robinson was wearing Antifa gear in his mugshot (it was the same type vest he had on today.

No. Been paying attention. I made a Facebook post in an attempt to deescalate and for next 24 hours a gang was calling me liberal. Remember I was an editor for 24 years so not like there is no data out there. There is a blooming crisis in our immediate family that I will be in middle of. I have seen people I know who are friends calling each other the worst if names. And it all seems to pivot on whether a maga or a liberal did the deed. I have said from day 1 I don't care and it does not matter.

How did we go from the shooter being involved in the gryoper mess and thinking Kirk wasn't far right enough to him dating a trans person and killing Kirk because of his right wing views?

Up or down?
No offense, but you said earlier that you didn't care what the shooter's motivation was, but now you're demanding that board posters vote on whether they think the letter is real. If the shooter's motivation doesn't matter, then why the insistence on having everyone vote on whether they think the letter is real? And for myself I don't really care about the letter either way.
