It's an intentional term the far right started labeling themselves as a few years ago. What was the intention in doing so? It means people that aren't them are not patriots.
oh, i thought it was a term that people used to sell flashlights and MREs. At least that's the impression i get from watching the commercials during any given college football game.

…eh, most of this board’s members are self proclaimed atheists and there’s a current thread discussing tips for moving out of the country. 58 of your members voted against a bill denouncing political violence and honoring the life of Charlie Kirk.

The reputation was earned
1. Most this board's members are not self-proclaimed atheists. I see your confirmation bias is still in full effect.

2. Why would anyone want to honor the life of Charlie Kirk? What the hell is wrong with you that you think failure to praise a shithead posthumously is tantamount to being anti-American.

3. Please stop with the "we are respectful and they are not" bullshit. Tell me the next time the GOP honors the capitol police who defended us on Jan 6. No, you assholes just pardon them.

4. Also on the front page is Mahmoud Khalil. Somehow you have lathered yourself up into righteous indignance about the "left" not caring about free speech because they refuse to honor a shithead. Meanwhile, YOUR president is out there actually curtailing speech, as with Mahmoud Khalil, who has been endlessly persecuted because he expressed his opinions.

5. Oh no! The Dems voted the wrong way on a meaningless gesture! Virtually all the GOP voted to confirm Hegseth, RFK, Bondi, Kash -- all the completely incompetent boobs who are ruining the country with each passing day. You are the ones cutting Medicaid and Medicare, and making vaccines less available, and running concentration camps, and running roughshod over the rule of law.

Your border czar was caught taking a $50K bribe and Trump's reaction was only that he wasn't clever enough to ask for more. Trump himself traded national security to Qatar for $2B in his crypto business. He's taking bribes left and right in order to grant pardons. He's retaliating against our erstwhile allies because his lawbreaking friend got jail time, and because they wouldn't lie to say he stopped a conflict he didn't stop and nominate him for a Nobel.

The idea that Democrats are in any way the problem is insane.

The NC GOP’s nominees in 2024 included a self-proclaimed Nazi who wanted to bring back slavery and a nut job who called for the public and televised murders of Barack Obama and Anthony Fauci. Spare us.

Not to mention, the atheists on here are FAR better practitioners of Jesus’s teachings than any of the self-proclaimed Christians who support the MAGA agenda.

That’s mostly on crappy networks featuring mediocre-to-bad college football - such as the ACC Network.

Jesus Christ, you are a true idiot. If the Republicans had brought forth a bill denouncing political violence separate from a measure to "honor" the life of a man whose very words INCITED violence, do you think a single Democrat would have opposed it? It's another stupidly transparent ploy by the GOP house members to box the Democrats in as pro-violence by attaching a thoroughly dislikeable measure to honor a human being that was a complete piece of shit while he was alive. And 58 Democrats decided they weren't going to play that game.

Fuck off with your Martin Luther Kirk idolatry. He was a garbage human being and doesn't deserve to be honored by anyone.

He didn't directly say it, but quoting a verse in the bible saying it, he agreed with the thought.

It's also amazing how many versions of the bible there are. I didn't realize that they went from abomination in one, to stoned to death in another.
Agree. I don't know why Stephen apologized. He shouldn't have. At the very least, he could have clarified that Kirk was implying that he felt the Bible had it right.

They didn't vote against denouncing political violence, those who proposed the bill knew that no one was going to vote to honor the life of Charlie Kirk.

You know the games they play, stick some crap like honoring a person not deserving of honor in with something important, knowing the outcome.

There's nothing wrong with not believing in a god, it's a country founded on freedom of religion, right...

And to bring up the thread about moving is laughable also, how often have we heard that Texas was going to succeed over the years?

You know the games, had the bill been strictly to denounce political violence it would have received 100% vote in favor. When you add in that bullshit about honoring the rights current martyr they knew what they were doing.

Charlie is sooo happy for whatever any observer wants. Saint SaysI’mright.

[Dear Thought Overlords: As has been the case my entire life, I reject political violence against anyone and everyone (including, without limitation, the murder of Charlie Kirk) in any democracy or quasi-democracy and even most non-violent autocracies that did not torture, politically imprison or murder their own citizens, which obviously the USA is not one of, being a well-known democratic republic. I do reserve the right to criticize online claims of what the actual person Charlie Kirk wanted after he tragically died, since he is unavailable to deny or confirm the same (notwithstanding video and audio evidence of his beliefs), and do not and did not in any way support any violence of any kind or nature (except legal self-defense that as far as I know never arose) toward Charlie Kirk or any of his family, affiliates or non-violent supporters.]

Yes, and the context that chrissteel used it shows he didn't actually read the article he linked.

Without mention of Charlie Kirk in the bill, 40-60 Trumplicans would have opposed it.

Splittin' hairs

So sayeth the Kirk ...
"... part of the same part of scripture is in Leviticus 18, is that thou shall lay with another man shall be stoned to death. Just saying. So, Ms. Rachel, you quote Leviticus 19, love your neighbor as yourself. The chapter before [18] affirms God’s perfect law when it comes to sexual matters."
