What's going to happen if Trump wins? In 2016, I heard that Trump was going to put homosexuals in cages. More recently, I've heard he might just decide to stay in office indefinitely. Maybe he'll use nukes on someone.

Who is willing to put their prediction on the record?

He will die in office. I am not sure he has another year left in him at this rate.

I doubt Trump will win, but if he does win, I think the Democrats will realize the open border of the Biden/Harris administration is what sunk them. So I think we’d see the Democrats actually take illegal immigration seriously going forward.

1. His economic policies will initiate the recession that Republicans have been hoping and praying for since January 20, 2021.

2. His foreign policy will enable Russia to win the war in Ukraine.

3. His immigration policy will cause economic calamity as our agricultural, construction, hospitality, manufacturing, meatpacking, and service industries take a massive hit.

4. Our global standing will be permanently eroded as the United States of America, once the vanquisher of Nazism and fascism, openly sides with authoritarian dictatorships in Russia, North Korea, and Iran.

This. And Elon Musk will have free reign to create media as he sees fit

If Trump wins, I predict that Taco will continue trolling the board with bad faith bullshit.

I also predict this if Trump loses.

Agree and disagree with this. I do think that if Trump wins, we'll see the Democrats change their tune on immigration. I think they'd be foolish to not do so.

But if Trump wins, it won't be because of the "open border" (there is no 'open border, and the Biden/Harris administration has not only seen a decrease in illegal border crossings since the end of Trump's administration, but have invested much more significant amotunts of money in beefing up border security technology than did the Trump admin). If Trump wins, it will be because enough Americans decided that they like or want authoritarianism. It really is as simple as that. I don't even think most Republicans (or the Trump campaign itself, for that matter) are denying that part anymore, that Trump seeks to be an authoritarian. They've embraced it, to their ignominious credit. So, if Trump wins, it will be because enough of our fellow countrymen decided that they'd rather have big government authoritarianism than big government liberalism.

Edited to add: Note that I'm not even calling Trump an authoritarian in my own words. He and his campaign have openly called himself one in their own words.

So, like…they might support a bipartisan bill that was a wish-list for Republicans?

I view it a little differently. Abortion is the main losing issue for Republicans and the border is the main losing issue for Democrats. Whichever side loses will need to look in the mirror and try to meet the average voter where the voters are on these key issues. I suspect it will end up being Republicans who regret overturning Roe. But if Dems lose, it’ll be due to immigration IMO.

Yeah, I hear you. I do think that is probably true strictly from a policy standpoint, but I am of the belief and opinion that there is no single policy issue that really ever decides an election, even if there is a single policy issue that is most prominent, if that makes sense. A Trump reelection would still come down to the fact that enough people in enough of the right places in our country decided that they don’t mind the authoritarianism that Trump himself says he wants to bring to Washington. Like I said in the edited portion of my post above, I am not even calling Trump an authoritarian myself; Trump and his campaign are openly discussing that they plan to be authoritarian. So if enough voters in enough of the right places check the box for Trump, it’s an endorsement for authoritarianism, IMO.

By my estimation, yes. During my time on the ZZL-P, there was only one poster who could rival gt's stubborn contrarianism and relentless commitment to derailing threads in bad faith. That poster was Taco.
Man alive, I cannot believe it did not occur to me that Zenmode is Tacomacarthur until you just said it. They post the exact same way. Like, exactly the same. Now I understand why zen was so weirdly reluctant to say what his previous board name was.

I wish I had a gif of a cheerleader pissing down her leg, Claire Bennet, because this would be the place for it. You’d have to double up your poasting efforts to change more hearts and minds over the next four years though. At least we’d have that to look forward to, I guess.

Further, Japan, Germany, and South Korea will begin working toward nuclear deterrence independent of the US.

Quite literally blow me, you utterly worthless sack of shit.

Mods: feel free to edit ‘blow me’ to ‘kiss my ass’ if it suits you. This poster to whom I am responding follows me around the board like a lost puppy begging for attention and affirmation, so I decided to give it to him.
