The Music Thread

Does anybody know any female singers who might be interested in singing vocal tracks on songs I'm writing? They don't have to be any good, just something like Gillian Welch or Emmylou Harris or Allison Krauss (I kid, I kid)...but an interest in folk/americana music would be good, and an appreciation for the poetry of Rumi would be balls to the wall. Any of you know anyone?
My best friend's daughter sang backup with De Milo with Arms formerly known as the Fabulous Knobs

One of my favorite single performance songs of hers was a cover of this song but not sure that fits with what you are looking for...

Yeah, I’m this old. This is mine and my wife’s jam… call it “our song”

Great "our song" for you and your wife ...love the Association who had so many great hits way back in the day ;)

The other band at the time was the Lettermen and "Almost There " was the "our song" for my high school girlfriend and me. We would slow dance to it at various "sock hops" oh to be 16 again:)

Does she have any of her music up anywhere?

Perhaps. Where? Does the gig pay?

Not for a gig, for recording. I can pay...oh I dunno. One time I paid 300 bucks, but that included a lot of production, instruments, vocals, etc. PM me if you know someone & I can send you a link & see if she likes the song.

I'm just recording these for posterity, for my son. Very low on the ambition scale.

Guitarist Jeff Beck was born June 24, 1944. Back in the 1970s I would blast this song while flying down Vance, Granville, and Warren county dirt roads at over 100 mph in my 1968 Camaro convertible.

One of the great rock songs of all time😆

My buddies in Ruffin Dorm would open the window and blast this song over the great lower quad😎

I'm in a sentimental mood so...

Carol Sloane was one of the great jazz singers who played at Stephen's After All jazz club in Chapel Hill from to to time where I enjoyed many of her performances.

But my fondest memory is when she was singing one afternoon in a bar before her performance later that night. A friend of mine took me there to have a few drinks before I was getting married the next day.

Being the bodacious friend, she went up to Carol and told her I was to be married the next day and asked her to sing a song for me.

She sang " Get Me To The Church On Time "

good times

Anyone get to Vulfpeck in Red Rocks last week? Really wanted to make that one, but have yearly family obligation that prevented it.

Had a few friends do the double with Phish in Boulder, but probably would have skipped that leg.

Heard it was a great show for Vulf, looks like we will hit the Sept gig at MSG.
