Love the Iguanas... I have two Iguana CDs

This is my favorite Iguanas song

We atheists say you agnostics are wussies who know better ;)
A very big and very old universe. Could actually be a supreme creator so ...

I will agree that the chance there is some deity that has any interest in humans as a race and certainly as individuals is as close to impossible a concept as it gets.

Yeah, if a god who created a universe so expansive that our little planet was nothing more than a tiny single grain of sand or less decided he/she would pay special attention to us ? Then I would ask that god, are you a moron ?

Ok...

Only us old guys will remember when Mike Cross was playing at the Endangered Species and the Cave and I could tell you about running into Mike when he played a gig in Atlanta but who cares ?

Here's my favorite that is a hoot :p

My wife and I saw him regularly at both places. I kept the door a lot of times at the Cave and Dale White (RIP), the owner of the Species was a friend then and for life. Mike and I played some darts and pool together. This song was special to us as a couple and I actually met the guy he wrote it for. Iirc, he wrote it for his friend, a local artist, to help win back a girl friend.

I used to play darts at the Species... Dale and I had a love hate relationship. I would tease him and the curmudgeon that he was would give it back to me two times over 😊

Any chance you saw Treva play ? I roomed with Joey Whitsett and had a crush on Becky Gross ( aka Treva ) back in grade school. Treva's cover of Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit was pretty damn good !

We almost had to have known each other. I threw darts at the Species a lot, almost as much as at the Cave. Of course, I was generally absolutely bombed. However, I probably had either the strangest or second strangest style in town. There was a guy named Jeff MacKay at the Species who had this really hot underaged girlfriend whose age everybody ignored, who had a push stroke that came out of his forehead and me that threw darts like a baseball. I was pretty fair at it and irritated the hell out of a lot of people who were convinced that no one could throw that way. That was part of the reason I was always so bombed. I could do it drunk, too, and a fair number of people ended up buying me beer. One of the reasons I went to the Cave more was I worked there part time and people seemed to like buying me beer at the pool table as well.

I do remember the name Treva but can't put a memory in place. (See bombed)

Speaking of throwing darts at the Cave. One night my buddy and me never sat down as others made their challenge. My favorite throw was to #19
That night I threw a triple 19 ( three in a bed ) on my first throw and a girl told our opponents , sorry guys it's game over... next up

The best 301 game I ever threw. the triple 19 bit my ass. I threw a 9 dart game with only 7 scoring darts. I wired the double 16 twice before getting in. Hit a ton 80 next round. Left me with 89 so T19 , D16 out, of course. I put the 19 on the wrong side of the wire them took D19,D16 out.

"Dillon Fence is playing some dates around NC this December to celebrate the 35th anniversary of our debut full-length LP, Rosemary! Press release below… you can find ticket links there or greghumphreys.net.
Dillon Fence –
Greg Humphreys, Kent Alphin Chris Goode, and Scott Carle – returns to North Carolina this December with a run of dates to celebrate the 35th anniversary of their debut full-length album, Rosemary, released in 1992 through NC-based indie label Mammoth Records.
Produced by rock legend Ron St. Germain, Rosemary represents a culmination of years of performing and songwriting and helped forge a special connection with fans. Their signature pop rock LP holds some of the band’s best-known and loved songs.
Rosemary helped the Fence become one of the biggest regional draws of that time – roaming the college circuit, always returning to their home base, indie rock Mecca Chapel Hill, NC.
The band’s college town jangle had a touch of soul and a youthful romanticism decidedly out of step with ‘90s nihilism.
Follow-up LPs Outside In and Living Room Scene reflected the sonic influence of alternative rock while retaining their dedication to harmony and songcraft. Tours across the U.S. and Europe supporting X the Band, Hootie and the Blowfish, and The Black Crowes followed.
The band unofficially broke up in 1995; however, since 2000, Dillon Fence has reunited regularly to play shows for their appreciative fans and celebrate music that defines a special time for the band and the fans.
Celebrate the 35th anniversary of Rosemary and get into the holiday spirit with Dillon Fence this December! Tickets available now."
