The Music Thread

Longtime Springsteen fan here, I just want to recognize his greatest album's 50th year and it's release on August 25 1975.

Not going to argue about best but this album will always be my favorite.

Darkness was a killer album . . I listen to it and The Wild/Innocent more than any other. Some of the best Boss music is on side 2 of Innocent . . I was 21 when his 2nd album came out and I was sold on him then. I'd play Sandy and then flip it to side 2.
Was lucky to catch him in concert at Georgetown's McDonough Arena December '75.

I definitely am not a Swiftie (and probably couldn’t identify one her her songs as a Taylor Swift song if I heard it without attribution) but since a certain POTUS has taken credit for his expressions of hatred for Swift making her “not hot” anymore, thought this was interesting.

Her tour ended. That’s all that happened. trump had no impact on her career or “hotness”.
He’s an idiot.

I’ve always assumed that the Wendy in the title track is Peter Pan’s Wendy and the singer is a Jersey Teen/20-ish Peter Pan. But apparently that is not as widely believed as I assumed.
There is an acoustic demo version (below) where he references Christine/Chrissie. Apologies if I’ve ruined your vision of the song 😀

Stand corrected 😊 E Street Radio played the 75 Main Point, PA version of Thunder Road and it clicked 😀 Thunder Road has Mary, Chrissie/Christine and Angelina (Main Point show). Born to Run has Wendy. Cannot remember if he’s used different names at all for BTR. So Wendy from Peter Pan is still alive. Maybe had I read “title track” in your post I might not have gone down this rabbit hole ha. It has been fun. Has me trying to think of the different names of women he’s used over the years 😀

given how we are continuing the slow march to a dystopian America today, I'm gonna join Merle at his table...

I know some may not appreciate Rick Beato’s take on the music industry, or his takes on pop music or music theory, but I’m posting this anyway. A lot of explanations about the history of Western music for the fist 2/3s of this video, but I’m really posting this for the piano piece played towards the end. As a musician myself, I really like and even love all kinds and styles of music. But this is the stuff that boils it all down to the essence, at least in Western music.

Love the Angelina version at the Main Point show. - “This 442’s gonna overheat, make up your mind girl I gotta get her back out on the street."

Thanks for posting this.
