NBA post season is almost upon us so interest will naturally go up. I’ll be talking about the NBA playoffs a lot but the below news is absolutely wild given the playoffs are in literal days..

4th in the conference and getting ready to go into the playoffs. This makes no sense at all unless he did something really bad.

Crazy on paper but it makes sense for anyone who’s been watching closely, listening to press conferences, comments in the press, general vibe of the team.

Seems as if he’d lost the locker room, and he and everyone was feeling exasperated by it.

Grizz did the same thing, 5 games ago.

If the coach has lost the team with 4 games to go in the regular season, that seems to be a team problem, not a coach problem.

The Nuggets are in a tough spot: too much money committed to Murray and Porter, Jr. and ownership will not allow the team to incur second-apron tax penalties. I don't know about Malone, but the Nugget fanbase uniformly dislikes Booth, the GM who was also shitcanned.

The Taylor Jenkins move was the more curious one to me. I think the guy’s a total scumbag who essentially put a hit out on Gary Payton that Dillon Brooks carried out and broke his elbow. It was McDermott/Creighton level in how obviously they were trying to hurt people. So he can go mop floors in the G league for all I care.

But that one to me seems as though there was something else going on we don’t know about.

But Malone? Nah, this had been slowly building. I’m not saying it’s the safest move, with the playoffs in a week… but I’m not shocked.

In the West teams 2-8 seem so close in ability to win a playoff series. Could Denver fall to 7th but still beat Houston? Would not surprise me. Could Denver make it to 4th and be at home and lose to Minnesota again or to GS? Also would not surprise me.

^ Wells broke his wrist but otherwise seems to be ok.

He’s had a really impressive rookie season, bummer to see it end that way. But Memphis does instigate a very physical brand of ball, and what comes around eventually goes around.
