He graduated from high school in New Bern, so I imagine he went from NC straight to Indiana that summer.

West and Robertson are All-Time Greats to be sure and Lucas isn't far behind. Dischinger had a few good years. Bellamy played 14 years, starting out with numbers to rival Chamberlain and declining every year afterward until he was a lumbering Big at Atlanta...still he had a pretty amazing career. There are four AAU guys up there...Boozer was one of them and he went on to be decent in the NBA (what's his relation to the twins coming in at dook next fall anyway?). Adrian Smith played some NBA and Imhoff became a journeyman (nicknamed Big Dome) and was the starting center the night that Chamberlain scored 100.

When Bellamy played for the Hawks he okayed with three other players who were high school stars in North Carolina: Lou Hudson, Herm Gilliam, and Pete Maravich.
