The Northern Lights

Anyone seeing the Northern Lights? I think it's awesome to see them this far south, but then again I think it's weird because they have already been visible a couple of times here this year, and I don't ever remember them being visible in the Triangle before in my lifetime.

A friend of mine lives in Missoula, MT, the pics she has sent are amazing, would love to see it in person...

CF might be high but not because of this question. WRAL story says the northern lights might be visible right now in NC. I'm guessing where i am has too much light pollution.

My understanding, which may be WAY off, is that the aurora will be difficult to see by eye as far south as NC, but it can be photographed via a long exposure in NC.

I'm in Kansas and apparently it can be seen tonight but not by the naked eye. Takes a little bit of the luster away but I will take a peer with my camera phone later.

I lived in Fairbanks, AK.

Those were Northern Lights.

I remember a night the locals were calling and knocking on doors……they were all telling everyone, “You have to see the Lights.”

Bear in mind, we saw the Northern Lights 12-20 times a month from late September to mid-March.

This night the Northern Lights were “pulsating,” moving, and multi-colored.

Funny thing—I’m currently on a cruise in Alaska, and the cloud/fog cover is so intense that we can’t see shit. Even with phones/cameras, it’s been a big strikeout here.
