You've Got Mail is the best. Honestly, I've watched it like 15 times or so, and every time something new is discovered. It's such a wonderful film. The thing that makes it so magnificent is that it's about friendship. True companionship. I think that's what makes a good rom com.

Anyhow, hit us with your best rom coms.

I feel like the 90s was the high water mark. Been down hill ever since.

I watch these with my wife and kids. They like them more than I do, but it's good family time.

We recently watched "Anybody but you". It was typical, but all of the cast was attractive. Especially Sydney Sweeney. And Damn what I'd give to be cut up like Glen Powell. I really hate good looking men. 😁

It was funny overall.

I'll have to catch that. I've not heard of it. Sounds good.

I admit I am a sucker for Hugh Grant romcoms. Brigitte Jones Diary, Love Actually, About a Boy, Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral, etc. I like to think of myself as being as charming and debonair as Hugh Grant’s characters (I’m not) but it gives me confidence nonetheless.

Hugh Grant is the hero in my fake narrative about all things.

Annie Hall is a brilliant romantic comedy. You've Got Mail is mostly a love letter to the Time Warner-AOL merger.
Whatever. It's a damn good film. And Annie Hall is too. I never really thought of it as a rom com before now, but I guess it is. Good film!

Fools Rush In, with the late Matthew Perry. Great movie.

When her father comes in to intervene, I get it. Despite having no children myself. It was so real. I get it. The hurt he shows. I get it.

One of the things I remember about “You’ve Got Mail” is they shot some of the outdoor scenes on West 89th between West End and Riverside. We lived on that street.

They shot during the winter.

At times they needed leaves (green or fall color, I don’t remember); so, they had people wiring silk leaves to the trees.

Never saw Tom Hanks or Meg Ryan.

If you were anywhere near You've Got Mail, you were blessed. Thank you for sharing.

Slightly amusing side story. I worked in a grocery store as a teenager throughout my undergraduate years.

There was a woman who would come in and always call me "Hugh," because I looked like Hugh Grant at that time.

I bet that woman is 80 or 90 years old now, assuming she's still breathing.

Anyhow, good memories.

You should find her and make her dreams come true.
