The Verizon Outage

Anyone else affected by it today? Weird thing is my wife's phone wouldn't work but mine did. She said her phone had SOS on the screen. I have a friend who's phone kept cycling on and off by itself. My wife went to a Verizon store because she thought something was wrong with her phone and said people were coming in asking if we were under attack.

A phone network having issues and a bunch of people's first thought being "we're being attacked" is strange to me.

My wife and I both use Verizon, and both of our phones were out for several hours. Couldn't text, call, or connect to the internet. Luckily we didn't have an emergency and had to call or text anyone, but it still makes you realize just how vulnerable you are if your phone isn't working and you do have an emergency. Like most people we don't have a landline phone anymore.

Maybe I just think the worst all the time (possible for sure) but my first thought was cyber attack.

We have 4 phones in the family and all went down. I was at a customers house and my I couldn’t even utilize the WiFi there for some reason. Later at home I could and I sent out some texts , but it wouldn’t let me send a text to one number for some reason. And then I’m they started working around 8..

I have a pixel phone and I had no issues as far as I can tell - my wife's iPhone was another story though

I have Verizon on an apple for me, and AT&T on an apple for work. Both worked fine all day unfortunately.

3 pixel phones in my household including 2 pixel 10s. The Pixel 8 and one 10 worked fine the other 10 didn't.

I mean I'm just messing around, but would it be surprising if it was? Nothing is off the table when it comes to the lunatics running the fedgov. Also "our government" doesn't exist on the federal level anymore. It's HIS government.

It was only impacting the IPhones in my family? I saw it as an opportunity and took a long walk and got some work done without interruptions. I read where folks going out to sports and entertainment events couldn’t pull up their tickets, now that would have sucked!

My phone was stuck in SOS mode from about 12:30pm yesterday until about 9pm last night. My wife had no issues at all. Weirdly a coworker had no issues and his wife's phone was stuck in SOS. Will be interested to see if any details come out. Been with VZW for 20+ years and never experienced an outage like that.
