I think this is the right call. I do a lot of eyerolling at WCPSS during winter weather months (canceling at the threat of flurries) but this seems fairly concerning.
Guilford County Schools just announced that it's an optional teacher workday tomorrow too due to possible severe weather. No school tomorrow.

Orange closed too

I'm really freaking nervous about this
I don't think it could be as bad as the April 16, 2011 tornado outbreak but it can be pretty bad. I hope there is some rain in the morning and then it stays cloudy the rest of the day to keep the energy down for severe storms. The problem is if it rains first and then the sun comes out it could actually increase the energy because it would be more humid.

2019 was scary. So was 2011.

I live in the woods... So you know those moments when insane gusts come though and you take a deep breath, close your eyes and hope and pray nothing falls

Fucking hate that. I like nice thunderstorms but severe ones can go to hell

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County schools just closed.

The only time I remember school being cancelled for potential severe weather was Hurricane Floyd, which ended up being a very nice day in Winston-Salem.

Thank you brother AGDevil for those prayers, consider them to you and the board's, the same prayers, I'm hoping this is an over-precautipnary alert for us all . . Prayers uplifted!

It's been raining here in the Triangle this morning with a few rumbles of thunder and lightning. Hoping the clouds stick around and we don't get any clearing to add fuel to the fire for severe storms later today.
