Haven’t posted here for quite some time, but this snowstorm is a good reason to return.

Anyway, Brad Panovich (meteorologist at WCNC - Charlotte) said earlier this week that the expected wind speeds would make accurate snow measurements difficult to impossible. That said, at 2:15 pm I took 19 measurements here in southern Rowan County in open areas and compiled the following stats: range: 4.5 - 7.5”, average: 6.6”, median: 7”.

We have had near whiteout conditions for the past two hours. An hour ago my daughter took a photo of snow on a patio table at her home in northern Mecklenburg County and it appeared to have approximately 6” of snow.
Welcome back!

I took 19 measurements in Raleigh and got:
Range 0.00 - 0.00
Average 0.00
Median 0.00

In case y’all couldn’t tell, this is pissing me off. If I have to deal with 15 degree temps, then I want some god damned snow.

So far - 2 massive winter storms and we have gotten 0 snow and 2” of ice. It’s insane how the rest of the state is getting snow and we get none of the good stuff.

I’ve got probably 7 inches and it’s still pouring snow in the Triad. Wild that Raleigh is getting nothing. Hate that for the snow lovers there, I’d be annoyed.

Always best to assume that we won't get more than a dusting of snow in Wake County, especially in the SW corner. It's like we're trapped in a snow globe but the snow is always outside the glass.

It started here (Onslow County) around 1:30 and hasn't let up. I'd say we have a solid 4" which feels significant in such a short timeframe.

I wish they would have had an episode of The Office where Jim keeps saying "that's what she said" in self deprecating ways. Like as a response to someone saying, "It wasn't as much as I expected." Have both Michael and Dwight laugh at Jim the first time but start to get frustrated because Jim clearly doesn't know how it is supposed to be used. All the while Jim is just trolling them.

But … on the bright side it’s some easy math.
