Y’all will get a kick out of this
I always spelled it Duke. To me, spelling it Duke was a reminder that they had sold, it wasn't stolen, they SOLD their good name--Trinity--to drug dealing Robber Barons. "A good name in man and woman, dear my lord, Is the immediate jewel of their souls: Who steals my purse steals trash; ’tis something, nothing; ’twas mine, ’tis his, and has been slave to thousands; But he that filches from me my good name Robs me of that which not enriches him, And makes me poor indeed." Othello, Act 3, Scene 3.Either things have changed a lot or they aren't students. When I was that age, no UNC student spelled dook that way.
