They are establishing a pilot program to make prior authorization required for Medicare, and to use AI to evaluate them (i.e. batch-deny). The ads write themselves:

[Video: I have concepts of a plan]
Trump had a plan all along
[shot of headlines about millions losing health insurance]
He didn't want to tell you
[concepts of a plan, echoing over the headline about Medicare requiring prior auths]
Because the plan was to cut your health care, your Medicare, to pay for tax cuts for billionaires
[concepts of a plan]
And [GOP politician] voted for it.
We don't have to put up with this crap. Vote :

I like the idea of being blunt. I"m no advertising guru, but "We aren't going to put up with this shit" could be, I think, a pretty good slogan for Dems.

OR this one, with a personal touch. Show a retiree

I worked hard my whole life. I paid my taxes. I paid into Social Security and Medicare so I could enjoy my golden years, knowing that I would be able to get the best health care available. Knowing I wouldn't have to spend hours fighting with insurance companies like I did for the last four decades. We had that until Donald Trump wrecked it. Democrats support Medicare for All; Trump supports Medicare for None.

Despite my earlier comment, I'm not against death panels. My understanding is that the last days of end of life care can be exorbitantly expensive with little benefit. I would gladly trade a bioethics and administrative team to determine what end-of-life care procedures won't be publicly funded over extending the regimen of pre-authorizations to non-Advantage Medicare.

But I expect that is not a popular opinion.

I am with you 100%. I have come to this opinion after watching people close to me dying from horrible diseases.

Doesn't medicare, for example, deny knee replacement surgery for some elderly, in certain situations?
I know of a lot of people who have had the surgery (my wife included) and I’ve never heard of Medicare denying coverage. I suppose it can happen, but I’ve never heard of it happening. Trust me, it is a surgery that definitely improves a person’s quality of life. If this dumb shit administration puts in a policy that makes it harder for people to get this surgery then there will be a lot of pissed off senior citizens and they will blame it (unless they are grotesquely stupid) on trump (with total justification).

No doubt my wife was able to get one recently. Zen and his ability to bosiding ilk always make it seem like a cosmetic surgery when they have not yet woken up in the night with such painful symptoms. I’m not a vengeful man but certainly I would not cry should someone like him/her/bot deal with her pain.

I don’t know how old Zen is, but age takes its toll. My wife’s knee was killing her. It was just simple wear and tear. Since her surgery, her knee has given her no more problems. She had her surgery when she was 72. The last thing we needed at the time was to have to fight an insurance company to make sure she was eligible for the surgery and that it would be paid for.

When, and if, this regime is finished I would support Nuremberg style trials. Pure evil with disregard for human rights and well-being. Greed gone amuck. Meanwhile, we could burn stacks of the Trump political manifesto, Plan 2025. You realize that political manifestos “Mein Kampf” and “Plan 2025” were published almost exactly 100 years apart. TDS is spreading…no vaccine!
