Thinking twice about criticizing the administration

Do you think twice before criticizing the upcoming administration?

I do. I won’t stop sharing my thoughts but I am more careful than I would normally be.

Might be out in paranoid left field but I just don’t know how bad this will get.

Do you mean online or generally in public? My answer is “absolutely hell no” either way but I was just curious. But I also don’t really ever find myself in situations where I am discussing politics with people whom I don’t know. But under absolutely, positively no circumstance do I have any hesitation in expressing my disagreement with the character and policies of the incoming presidential administration out of fear of backlash. Hey, maybe the joke is on me and they will haul my ass to the Gulag, but they will have to do so with both of my middle fingers in the air and then they can bury me upside down so they can kiss my ass.

I don't think anyone has the bandwidth to give a fuck about what any of us say here. Maybe if we were national figures . . .

No matter how bad Trump is, he's not going to be Stalin. The infrastructure just isn't there. I don't think the desire is there. They've made their priorities fairly clear, I think. Cracking down on message boards ain't it.

Awww, come on now. This is getting really out there. There are well over 75 million adults that are fearful for our country. Not about a one time spike in inflation, but J6 becoming the norm, and worse over the next four years. And most are and will complain loudly as it happens.

You really think Trump is going to target you individually? Now any Pubs that don't play along, Dem politicians, and our currently free press, should have some concerns.

While I agree with you on the merits, let's have a little empathy for the OP. He has a dependent son who he already worries about how to care for. So he probably feels like the stakes are extra high.

He probably is also transferring some of the anxiety he feels from the situation with his son into this topic. If you already have a lot of frustration, adding fear -- even if not fully rational -- can be really hard to deal with.

I respect your stance. I have a kid who needs me around and that influences me.

That makes sense and is reassuring.

As you can all tell, I am pretty opinionated still. It isn’t like I am running away. Just slightly moderating how I say things.

That way they’ll go after you guys first. ;-)

I promise you this: if they come after us, I will move myself to the front of the line and make them go through me. And maybe they will. Then they will have my dead body, but they will not have my obedience.

But I really don't think it's going to come to that. It would be impossible anyway.

Buddy if they get to the point where they're reading our posts on the ZZL Politics board and torturing poor Rock to get our IP addresses so they can send us all to the gulag, we're already in a world I don't have any interest living in.
I am ready

I'm not claiming they are afraid per se, but I'd say they're definitely reading the room.

I heard this this morning and took it that when they ended the communications, it was a way of showing that he wasn’t legitimate and didn’t matter. And now because of the the election they are forced to accept Trump is the President and they have to do their job and deal with it. I just don’t believe they are in fear.
But speaking to your side I thought it was just weird.

When “they” start coming after the people on the ZZLP, they might come after you first for being the first one to be on to their whole plan!
