RE: Shaving

Do y'all shave with the grain, against the grain, or some combo of both? I have to shave against the grain or I won't et a close shave. If I need to hack off my goatee, I will shave with the grain to trim it down, and then against, to get it close. What's up with that?

I shave down and across my face from my ear to my mouth, and then shave upwards for my neck.

I just gave it up completely. The only two reasons I ever shaved anyway was that it was bothersome when I worked out in the summer heat and my neckbeard was so bad that I'd have to shave it occasionally even in the winter. Since I'm retired and just go in when it's too hot and there's a very clean even line where the radiation took out all the hair follicles on my throat, damn a bunch of razors. Don't see myself with one again.

Shave down beliow the beard first; then up against the grain. Down and sideways with cheeks. Liked it and felt better that way. Most of my face has not seen direct sunlight in 50+ years. Other than in my 20s I never let it grow too long.

To get a really good shave one has to go against the grain.

I haven't shaved since covid.

Good thing you mentioned the goatee or some of the pervs around here would have assumed you were manscaping. :D

I've watched and rewatched Blazing Saddles for several decades. I figured I'd probably picked up on every joke in that movie, however I just now learned of the reference in name William J. Le Petomane.

The only real difference between a flatulist like Joseph "Le Petomine" Pujol and a fabulist like St. Donald of Mar-a-Lago is from which orifice their offensive emissions emanate.

One of the first things I got but happened to be familiar with the character from high school French.

In today's digital edition of "USAToday," the coverage of the return of the stranded NASA astronauts included this "action" photograph of one of the members of the ocean recovery crew. Wonder why they selected this particular photo?

Was in a light car crash yesterday. Coming back after a road basketball, on our way to postgame meal at McDs. The small bus we were on ran a stop sign and hit a small car in the intersection. Everyone on the bus was okay. The airbags in the small car deployed but it looked like they were okay (our trainer checked them out, but they didn't want to exit the vehicle til the ambulance showed up. We were lucky it was a small car and not a truck or another bus. Thing is I saw the stop sign and noticed our driver was not slowing down...but didn't yell out in time.

In a very Costa Rican gesture of courtesy, the neighbors that lived at the intersection came out and made sure everyone was okay. Even brought out a tray of glasses of water.
