This thread is totally random

My life is a complete mess right now.

I'm sitting here, alone, at my mother's house on a Friday night.

So, I decide to watch a movie. Found a dystopian future state movie: 2073.

I'm three minutes into the movie and there's a shot of San Francisco. It starts out displaying the police state, the surveillance, you know, normal dystopian stuff.

Then there's this bright digital billboard on a building. Only there for a second, but it looked familiar, so I paused.

The billboard appears to be Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.

Below the picture it reads: "BREAKING NEWS: Chairwoman Trump Celebrates 30th year in power".

The universe hates me. That and we have hired an amicable divorce attorney. Fucking lawyers are expensive. And this lawyer doesn't handle contested divorces, I would go bankrupt if we were arguing over the separation.

NOTE: I hope putting the period outside the quotation is correct, I'll have to go back and read that thread again.

🤔

Thanks for asking. It's up and down. The other day there was a bill for the lawyer, which means we are one step closer....

Some days I'm ready to move on some days I don't want to be alone. But I have to accept is coming.

Tomorrow, I get to forget reality and watch UNC kick some ass.

Again thanks for asking, it helps to talk about it and I don't have many people in real life that know.

Yeah, I thought he was just a realtor. There's a local ice cream shop that was going to close, but then a couple stepped in to take it over. The shop posted on their Facebook page about the new partners, and I recognized the guy as someone I played basketball with regularly. The post said he was a former member of the group Menudo in the 80s. I did some Googling and found out he was a member for a year. I had no idea. Also turns out he is in a group now with other former members of Menudo.

Had a strange sort of flashback today. Here I was in a parking lot exchanging cash with a stranger for greenery. This time, though, it was potted plants instead of pot.

I was looking online yesterday for a couple of particular plants. Found some good prices but shipping didn't look good. Looked farther down and saw a Pittsboro address. I called and asked if he had a real life place or was just online and told him where I was. He said he wasn't set up for that but he'd meet me somewhere. So, on the way back from Southern Pines and my SiL's 81 birthday party, I took a quarter mile jog and picked things up. When he turned out to be a guy about my age, it sure brought back some memories.

Microsoft Outlook Version 1.0 . I just can't throw this thing away.

Oh man, I hated those things. So, I used something that was way more complicated and difficult to use. I set up a notebook, with A-to-Z divider pages. Then I put in those clear plastic pages that had like two rows of five or six slots for business cards. After years, probable decades, of non-use, I finally threw it away about three weeks ago. But not before leafing throw it--to make sure--there nothing in it that was not also my phone. A wave of relief swept over me when I heard it hit the bottom of the trash can. Finally, I boldly stepped into the 21st Century.

Just got the last of a pleasant surprise. Last year I planted 5 relatively expensive plants by my standards. They never took hold and I was sure that they died. Over the last week, they have decided to reappear. I found the last two today.

I got old man's tech skills and old carpenter's hands. I've successfully fought down any urges of any kind to post any.

I don't trust pictures anyway. Objects might be okay but I'm pretty sure they steal souls. Look at Trump. I can't avoid them altogether but I do pretty good.
