Tropical Storm Erin

I don’t love the damage hurricanes bring, but I love the rain, and when it’s hurricane season the end of summer is in sight. I hate summer.

Not to excuse the myriad of bad spellers out there, but I think these sorts of misspellings come from voice to text use plus a lack of copy editing due to extreme laziness.
 
Godammit.

My mom passed in February and my fam is holding a celebration of life in the USVI this weekend. The tropics are always dicey this time of year, of course—but FFS, I’ve had a really hard year and was hoping to avoid a big storm. And now Erin keeps moving further west, tracking closer and closer to the islands.

Uuuuuggggghhhhh.

We canceled our travel plans tonight. My flight was set to leave out of RDU at 5:30 AM, about 6 hours from now.

It wasn’t my decision to make—and I don’t agree with it. But my stepdad got cold feet with the storm approaching…and also I think he’s just not ready to let go.
