He’s getting lots of help from the media, who continuously ask him about it, as if it’s a perfectly normal thing to inquire about.

The media would rather let him try to subvert our Constitution for the chance to be first to report it than not bring it up at all due to the preposterous notion that he would even consider it.

The media (mainstream as well as right-wing fringe) has utterly failed this country.

Sadly, mainstream media is now becoming right wing or Trump-capitulating media.

Because, many liberals know in their heart that Trump is trolling them BUT they still can't help being triggered because of TDS.

The 3rd term statements are also aimed at Republicans in Congress to keep them in line even after the midterms.

How does it do the latter if no serious person thinks he can run for a third term?

But again - the only way these sorts of statements would be effective to keep Congressional Republicans in line would be for Congressional Republicans to take them seriously and not as just trolling the libs. And you just said no one would take the statements seriously. You can't have it both ways. The statements are either trolling that no one should take seriously, or serious statements that congressional Republicans have to respect. Which is it?
 
From Congressional Republicans' perspective, they understand that there's no legal way for Trump to have a 3rd term BUT with Trump you never know what he might try so that creates doubt in their minds. It's a brush back pitch. Crossing Trump not worth the risk (even though it may be small).

You're just talking out of both sides of your mouth on this. "No serious person thinks he's able to run for a third term" but also Republicans have to take the threat seriously? Make up your mind. It can't be both a troll when you want to make fun of libs for it but also completely serious when you want to laud it as some smart strategy to keep the party in line.
