Trump Addresses The Nation

Called my parents to wish them happy anniversary and this shit was playing in the background. I always suspected but deep down I hoped it wasn’t true… *sigh*
Maybe they’re part of Americans over a certain age who feel like it’s their duty to watch a presidential speech?

I guess. I did have a conversation with my mom about healthcare a month ago and she seemed hell bent against Trump. But when I mentioned that I couldn’t believe they were watching that she just defended my step dad… which is weird because he’s always seemed like such a smart measured person.

My parents would have watched it - and they would, I have no doubt, have despised trump. But they watched Nixon, Reagan, and Bush, who they thought of as inhabiting differing levels of wrongheadedness.

They would gave done it because he’s president but they also believed in knowing your enemy. Deddy always watched Helms for the knowing too.
